I deliver for you all in Ga market (Macon) but lately I have noticed I’m getting orders to pick up and drop off in another region and you all are paying as if I’m in that region. I also noticed you are paying less delivery fee some of $1.00 and then the mileage is like not even 50 cents. It’s more like .10 a mile from where I’m at to the restaurant and customers house I can be 20 miles round trip and yet I am only getting paid just to go to the restaurant. You guys need to not penalize us for dropping blocks and or decline orders because it doesn’t make sense to pay $4 for a delivery and we have to wait. If we have a order and “someone else gets the food or it gets cancelled” you guys should pay the driver for driving there something because we drive for you all and we never know if it gets picked up or cancelled until we are there or heading that way pay us something. If you want us to deliver out of region don’t mark us absent or tell us we are out of region because you all sent us out of region to do a delivery on behalf of you guys! And get rid of the status primmer pro and partner it makes no sense because we all have to decline orders from time to time when you want us to pick up and drop off out of area.
Drove over an hour, order was cancelled, was compensated nothing.
I’m from Philadelphia. I received a late order for New Jersey, for popeyes, which was 35 minutes away. I crossed state lines, paid a toll, drive there, only for the restaurant to be long closed, then for the order to be cancelled altogether. I’m then 35 minutes + another toll away from my delivery region. When I called support, they didn’t say much and then transferred me to another support member, who then apologized, before falling into silence as well. I said, “what happens now? No response. I say, “I drove really far to get here, and now I’m out both money and time, and us drivers don’t make much to begin with. Our time is a commodity.” He says that there’s nothing he can do. I tell him that doordash offers drivers half of the rate for miscommunications that clearly aren’t the driver’s fault. He then says there’s no payment or compensation that can be made. The customer service was horrible. I had to take the lead as no one else was speaking or saying anything of substance.
I DO NOT recommend driving for grubhub. Horrible customer service, when they give you late orders they don’t notify the customer, so you have an angry customer on your hands that thinks the tardiness is your fault, and the rates are horrible. Go drive for uber eats, doordash, postmates, but not grubhub. I’ve never had a worthwhile experience. This system needs a big Change up.
I would give the app 5 stars if it wasn’t for the support team, it’s a very good job, pays well and the app works fine. But i had so many frustrations with the support team, i got 2 unfair absents witch impacts heavily your priority of picking up schedules, it affects your earnings badly when it happens. The first one i was making a delivery outside my area (for a grubhub delivery) and in my way back my block started while i was still returning to my area, it’s a understandable issue that was supposed to be easily fixed, but no one in the support helped me, and it was obvious they weren’t even trying. The second one i was in apple bee’s parking waiting for orders but I didn’t get one for like an hour, when my block started they told me I wasn’t available and they gave me an absent, when i contacted the support the agent gave me another schedule and i got another absent instantly, he told me to reinstall the app, i did it and he gave me the schedule again and it worked, but i had 2 absents now and he told me only the driver care could fix it and he was going to contact them to make sure they fix it. After 2 weeks i tried to contact the driver care my self, talked to a bunch of agents and all they did was tell me it was my connection and they couldn’t do nothing about it. So the job is really nice until the day you will depend on people that doesn’t even care about you...
