Other commenters have had several complaints about the use of this app. I am new to this vision plan, and I am unable to create an account using the app or the web. It would be better to make the vision app unavailable for download than to continue letting users go through the similar issues. I do not know if this app is newer than the other BCBS apps for dental or overall healthcare, but this needs some serious work regarding accessibility. This is the app listed in methods of communication for all users, and it has major issues. I would remove this until a better app can be developed or developers can fix it. It is unacceptable for a health insurance company.

This app is beyond frustrating. I can’t even get past the login screen—all it does is spin endlessly with the little buffering circle. No error message, no help, just stuck forever. I’ve tried reinstalling, clearing cache, updating my phone—nothing works.It’s unacceptable that a major insurance company like Blue Cross Blue Shield can’t provide a functioning app for vision insurance. If I can’t access my benefits or claims when I need them, what’s the point? This experience alone is making me consider switching to a different vision insurance provider in the future.Save yourself the headache and don’t bother downloading until they fix these basic issues.

From the website to the app, I can’t update my own address, I can’t add direct deposit for claims, and on the website you can’t even submit a claim. The app will let you but it automatically lists it as out of network. I have a weird situation where what I am submitting a claim for is perfectly in network the issue is the Dr I saw just moved to the state and they only told me that day that he can only accept insurance to buy glasses not for the exams until his paperwork transfers so I’d have to pay out of pocket or reschedule and I didn’t have time to wait any longer. Very poorly designed products. Very surprising from Blue cross and fed employees deserve better.

The whole UI is archaic. I attempted to use this to submit a claim but the error: “Service Type Required” kept popping up even though all information had been entered. The website isn’t much better, same archaic UI that freezes and is difficult to navigate and not user friendly in the least.
