Is it really free?
Yep! Ameelio believes that staying connected with your loved ones and paying for basic needs shouldn't be a tradeoff. You'll never have to pay for a video or voice call with us.
So, what is Ameelio anyway?
Ameelio is a nonprofit, and our mission is to build free-to-use communications technology to create a more humane and rehabilitative corrections system. You may recognize the name from our free mailing app 'Ameelio Mail: Photos to Prison', but we're only getting started.
When will Ameelio Connect be available in my facility?
If your loved one isn't incarcerated at facilities offering our service, don't worry too much. Ameelio is working hard with policymakers and correctional departments across the US and globally to make free video and voice calling a reality for everyone!
* US states with facilities offering Ameelio services currently include California, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, and Washington.
** In order to use the service, you must first receive authorization from the facility as an approved visitor.
Thank you so much for creating this opportunity for me to see my son and vice versa - I live many states away from where he is so I have been unable to visit in person like I otherwise would be doing. It is such a most fortunate opportunity to see my son on here and vice versa - thank you Ameelio !!

Dune2023!
I feel that the visit has clear hearing and great sound. The only thing is when we are talking the call freezes up and then I don’t get to hear what he’s saying and it’s important to hear what he has to say. I’m really thankful for the free service that Ameelio Connect has to offer or I wouldn’t be able to visit with my good close friend. Happy New Year .

The calls are so clear in the video is amazing audio is also amazing. I’m very thankful for these visits because we live so far away without them. I may not have very many visits at all ever because the gas prices are extreme thank you Amelia. You’re straight up one of the best apps ever.

It is amazing how far technology has come. It maybe a short visit but to be able to see his face and have a conversation it allows us to keep in touch more.
