Description

Little Bean app allows you to easily evaluate whether ingredients in your beauty products are pregnancy-safe, thereby helping you make the best choices for you and your

baby when shopping the cosmetics aisle.

Little Bean app allows you to easily evaluate whether ingredients in your beauty products are pregnancy-safe, thereby helping you make the best choices for you and your baby when shopping in the cosmetics aisle or going through products you already have at home.

Focus your phone’s camera on the ingredient list of your beauty product to check if it contains ingredients that may be harmful to use during your pregnancy.

We make it simple to access continuously up-to-date information on potential low-, medium-, and high-level risks and side effects associated with ingredients found in common beauty products. By consulting medical professionals and peer-reviewed research studies, we’ve built a database of over 50 types of chemicals, additives, as well as natural and processed ingredients frequently found in beauty products. You can also find tips and suggestions for safer, pregnancy-friendly alternative products and ingredients inside the app!

Little Bean app is not intended to substitute seeking out personalized advice from a trained medical professional and is meant to provide general, recommendation-only information. PS Wellness LLC disclaims any liability for the decisions you make based on the in-app information. If you have any concerns about the use of a specific product, please consult with your physician."

Awesome— so needed!

This works REALLY well. It’s amazing that nothing else like this really exists. Well done!

I have two pieces of feedback to make this app better: please have your app flag any ingredients that are not found in your database, so consumers are aware of any ingredients that are not being verified. This would definitely be better than just displaying “no harmful ingredients found.“ Also, small thing, if you could make the display name of your app shorter so that it fits under the app on the home screen, that would be awesome. I’m assuming it would be better to just display “Little Bean” as the name of the app once downloaded— instead of all the rest of the wording that just gets cut off and looks messy.

Great App!

I had originally written a review saying the app did not work & the developers reached out and after discussing… I realized I was using the app completely wrong lol. I didn’t realize you’re supposed to scan the ingredients.. the whole time I was trying to scan the barcode so it didn’t recognize any harmful products. But since then, the app has been 10/10

Developer Response ,

Thank you for editing your review. We have released a new version that should make it clear to the user to scan the ingredient - not the barcode. We allways appreciate constructive feedback and aim to have a great user experience. Thank you for your help!

Does what it’s meant to

*edit* It failed to pick up on a medium risk ingredient (octinoxate) because it was listed under a different name (ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate).

Easy to use; the scanner functions really well. It’s quite fun going through your bathroom cabinet and checking all the ingredient labels with this app! I had manually checked most of the products I use early on in my pregnancy and it was a relief when this scanner confirmed that everything I’ve been using is safe. The only thing this app needs is a function that allows you to copy paste a list of ingredients for products that you are interesting in purchasing.

Developer Response ,

Hi there. Thank you so much for the constructive feedback. I have added ethylhexyl methoxycinnamate to the database as a medium risk ingredient. I strive to list all light to high risk ingredients, but sometimes they use less common names for ingredients such as octinoxate. If you have any doubt in regards to a product please consult with a medical professional. This app is intended as a guidance but should not substitute medical advice. Thank you! Little Bean App
