App syncs and connects to grill easily. Session plots are nice. It would be nice if it had more features like the Thermoworks products. It would be nice to be able to rename sessions to remind me of my cook instead of just a date. It would also be nice to customize the probe names if I was cooking different meats. For probes, the temps for smoked items like brisket should include a 205F temp target since that’s what bbq is all about. Also need to be able to delete sessions too.

I paid $250 for a temperature controller, iKammand, that Kamaro Joe just bricked, dropping all support for without notice or compensation. It’s useless now. The old app is gone and this app does not support my device. You have been warned. Update: look at their response. Man, when I bought Kamado Joe it was a company that provided a premium product with premium support. Look at them now. Masterbuilt mass market, MBA driven garbage with a canned response written by a bot that's completely irrelevant to the above review. I had a Gravity grill from Masterbuilt as well and that piece of junk fell apart after one move. I threw it out. Just be warned, don't listen to the people who fall for the marketing. Those suckers will throw money at anything and that's who they target. This is not Kamado Joe anymore, this is just a brand of Masterbuilt. Get the Big Green Egg, Kamado Joe is dead, they sold out.

The app is great for manually checking everything without going out to the grill and setting your temp. There are basic features however that are just not useful at all. 1. All the probe temp targets are the same, therefore useless. for example, no matter which type meat you choose, the rare, medium rare, medium rare, etc are the same temps for poultry, pork, beef, and fish. MY $10 probe thermometer knows those don't all cook at the same temp.2. Editing timer and temperature is not easy. You can't add time to the timer until it reaches 0. This is a simple feature. For temp, when you set it and decide to change it, sometimes you can not do so, as hitting confim will not change the displayed set temp.

I would stay away from anything app controlled they produce. I had an iKamand, and they disabled the servers making the device completely useless with no warning or communication. It is now a $200+ paperweight. I reached out and was told I was out of luck. They did this during July 4, which is one of the largest cooking times of the year in the US. They have offered no resolution or explanation to those of us left with a non-functioning product apart from the product has been discontinued...while several online retailers were still selling them. The Konnect Joe may work now but what happens when Kamado Joe decides to no longer support it? Given their track record of abandoning apps, I would not trust Kamado Joe.
