The whole drumline in your pocket. Write it with Notation, march it with Charts, and follow Drum Major. On iPhone and iPad. Snare drum, Tenors, Basses, Cymbals, Xylophone, Marimba, Vibraphone, Write Notation, Charts, Drum Major, Metronomes, Drumhead Tuner, and Challenges!!! In your pocket for the cost of a drum key. This app isn't for people who like drums or are drum-curious. This app is for those who can't stop drumming on anything and everything around them to the point where they are considered "disruptive" to their family, friends, and neighbors. Honored by Apple as "New & Noteworthy" in the Music apps category. This isn't some free tap app with canned sound effects and busted graphics. We're bringing the world's best drumming hardware to your fingertips. We've partnered with Dynasty USA Drums, Pro-Mark Drumsticks, Evans Drumheads, and Sabian Cymbals to deliver an optimized marching experience directly to your iPhone and iPad. And now you can write it, play it, and march it. Are you kidding?! WRITE NOTATION That thing you've been tapping on every available surface? Write it down. Build snare, tenor, bass, and cymbal parts with accents, diddles, flams, sticking, dynamics, and tuplets. Go from mf to f with a crescendo. Hit play and hear your battery bring it back. Save and share editable .perc scores, or export PDF and PNG sheet music. CHARTS A whole drill book, right here. Place performers, build sets, choose the counts, add your music, and watch the transitions in 3D. Check the drill from overhead, orbit, judges, or a performer's view. Basketball courts, WGI floors, custom spaces, and .drillbook sharing. Yes, we're moving feet now too. DRUM MAJOR Somebody's got to keep this thing together. Build a conducting program with different tempos, meters, dynamics, and count-ins. Set a countdown so you can put your device down, then play to the hands. That tempo change isn't going to practice itself. If you're reading this you're late. 1000s of drummers before you downloaded this app: • Battery samples professionally recorded by DCI DVD sound engineer Jamie Vanadia at NoiseFloor Ltd. in Chicago. • Front ensemble samples courtesy of the University of Iowa Musical Instrument Samples (MIS) project. You guys rock! • In Snare: toggle between dynamics and standard modes. • In Basses and Tenors: switch between Pro-Mark nylon and soft mallets. • In Cymbals: crashes, chokes, taps, sizzles, sizzle chokes, hi-hats, and zings. • Full and split keyboard layouts for xylophone, marimba, and vibes. Foot pedal on vibes, too. • Color themes to match your drumline. THE HARDWARE Snare: Dynasty MS-XD14 Marching Snare Drum. Tenors: Dynasty MT-680234, five- and six-drum configurations. Basses: Dynasty MB-18 through MB-26, 18", 20", 22", 24", 26". Cymbals: Sabian Synergy HHX, 18" and 20". METRONOMES 30–300 BPM in wood block, metal, or duts. Quarter, eighth, sixteenth, and triplet subdivisions. Offbeats and all that sweetness you need. Save your presets for the next rep. DRUMHEAD TUNER Do the impossible: tune your tenors or basses. Hit-and-hold pitch detection, Low/Standard/High tuning targets, and smart harmonic correction. No piano tuner nonsense, just drums. CHALLENGES Test your phrasing memory on snare, tenors, or basses. Put your BPM senses to the test in Line Leader. Grab your practice pad and find out how many single strokes you can play in 30 seconds in Speed Test. Drumline captains, this will put your titles to the test! It's a whole drumline in your pocket for less than a drum key. Get all this when you buy now! Like no tricks. Buy once. No subscription. No in-app purchases. Learn more: https://drumlineapp.com Join the line: https://facebook.com/drumlineapp Or X: https://twitter.com/drumlineapp Yo! Improving playability and customizability
10/05/2025
1000000 percent
This app is very good and useful, but one downside of using it on a smaller phone is not having enough room to play especially on tenors. A potential fix would be to allow the app to rotate into landscape mode, giving more space to work with. I also think it would be helpful to have more customization, like the ability to toggle rims on and off or create customplaying zones. These feature would make it a more flexible, enjoyable and user friendly app.

Thanks for the feedback! I’ll do it! Newest version now has rims and rimshots toggle for off or on and you can tap a button to go full screen in landscape. Thanks again!

I love the idea of this app and how innovative it is. It would get 2 stars if cymbals didn’t work or if it wasn’t innovative. This game tends to have many bugs and is overall unfinished. For the tenor drums, they work decently fine, just a little slow. I’d also advise you turn off rims for the tenors. Snare is kind of all over the place. Sometimes it doesn’t respond to hits and when you do tap it in a certain place it usually picks it up as a different hit. The chops mode does work though, just a bit slow. The basses probably work best apart from cymbals. They again don’t really cooperate and the tuning is kind of out of wack. There is an option to play just one individual bass which works quite well. I again, advise you to turn off rims for basses. Cymbals respond perfectly and are pretty fun if you ask me. Memory game is the worst one though. It’s stupidly funny how any time you tap the drum it either is super delayed or it doesn’t pick it up that you played that spot and plays a different one. It just needs a lot of fixing and needs to be finished. As cheap as I sound, it’s definitely not worth the $2 it costs. It it stays like this it needs to be free. I hope someone reads this and fixes this game cause I’d love it if it wasn’t so bugged out.

Great App, But Some Improvements Needed for Phones

I love the Drumline app on my iPad—it’s a solid tool for drumming practice. However, using it on a phone is a different story. I often face issues with note registration on the tenors, snare, and bass drums. It’s frustrating when notes don’t register consistently. Additionally, the bass drums are puzzling; having two with the same pitch is confusing. I’d suggest arranging them in a clearer line instead of the current setup. These tweaks would make the app much more user-friendly on phones. Would I recommend you get this app? absolutely if you have an iPad but definitely not if you have a phone. Since the app works fine on iPad 5 stars but please fix the issues that I’m having.

2 Main Problems

It’s a useful app for when i need to check what other’s play or check it to see how it lines up with my music. The problems are that where i touch on the drum does not correspond to where it’s being played (for instance i hot the center of the drum but registers as a rim click). The other problem is that it is a bit slow, but that isn’t as much of a big deal as the other one. I also don't exactly know how to do buzzes on the snare or tenors and there seems to be no control of dynamics. Suggestions: The UI also seems out of date and should maybe get a more modern and solid colored background instead of a gradient shadowy background. The app icon I do quite like actually and that should never change.

Fine-tuning the details: smoother notation editing, clearer sticking and crossovers, improved printed scores, and easier performer placement in Charts.
