WHAT'S THAT IN-APP PURCHASE ABOUT?

When you purchase Due today, you will have access to every feature in the app today—no further purchase required.

You will also get access to all new features released one year from your date of purchase.

The optional Due Upgrade Pass subscription allows you to continue getting access to all new features released one year *after* your date of purchase.

And here's the deal: Every feature that you have unlocked will remain available to you, forever—even if you stop subscribing.

Even without a subscription, you'll always receive bug-fix and compatibility updates for free. These updates add support for the latest iPhones, iPads and Apple Watches. They also help ensure that Due continues to function well on the latest versions of iOS, iPadOS and watchOS.

Due has a pretty good track record with that.

To illustrate: If you've purchased Due back in 2010 for your iPhone 3G running iOS 4, that very same app in 2024 is now optimized for iPhone 16 Pro Max running iOS 18. It even works on devices that didn't exist back then, such as the iPad Pro and the Apple Watch.

Best Timer on iOS

tl;wr: Buy the app, get the in app purchase-- it really is that awesome. I know what you're probably thinking: "Why do I need a timer app when there's already a app included on my phone that does this?" Two words: Auto Snooze. This feature allows you to be notified when a task, reminder, or timer is due and gently nudge every so often until the task is marked complete or the time is reset. Let's say you're like me a need a reminder to stop playing video games and get back to work. I set a timer for 30minutes and an Auto Snooze of 1 minute. When my timer is up at 30 minutes, I get notified. When I don't clear the alert, I get notified at 31 min, 32 min, 33 min, and so on. This allows me to finish a level or get to a stopping point while not leaving the door open for me to play another three hours. Due is also a place for reminders and tasks that need to be completed. The "date and time picking" interface is great and easy to use. While I personally don't use this feature as much, when I have used it, it has been quick and painless. Seriously, if you ever need to set a timer or remind yourself of something AND you need a little bit of nagging to get it done, this app is the one you want. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

This app is really top quality and probably the best of its kind

This app is really top quality and probably the best of its kind — with two easy changes I would give this app 5 stars. If it allowed a back up that could be imported to restore all the reminders into the app rather than just a text file, and if it let you choose more friendly colors that ack and white — like and earthtone green and/or other more pleasant colors. That said this app lets you set reminders and makes it as easy and seamless as possible— it also lets you add alarms to your reminders and the small price for it all is very much worth it, and they don’t charge you a subscription like some apps so you get what you pay for — you can get future features after a year with a subscription which seems reasonable to help them develop for it, but it being unlocked once you buy it is important. There’s a lot of other details I haven’t mentioned here, but definitely just try the app out for a bit and see what you think of it

Edit: The developers responded to this post about how to back up data, which I appreciate — that said I would like to be able to back up my data locally to be restored later locally on my computer or elsewhere as I prefer to keep my data off the cloud. If this can be added it would be greatly appreciated and I would update this review

Developer Response ,

Thank you for taking time to leave a review. You can export a backup file from Due > Backups. Tap on the current data at the top, then choose to save the backup file via the share button on the top right. This file can be opened with Due to import the data.

This app would have received a 5-Star review if…

UPDATE:
The developer responded to my complaint, and corrected the bug. I now have everything unlocked again! I updated my rating to 5 stars, because as I mentioned below, this is an incredible app!! Tons of thanks to the developer!!!

They had been honest from the get go. Signing up you’re given the impression that whatever you have access to upon purchasing, you will maintain after the first year’s subscription(included in the initial purchase) is expired, EXCEPT for the new features. I’m here to tell you this is a lie. Just a moment ago, apparently one year later exactly TO THE MINUTE, I noticed my widget for this app no longer works, and I must pay the annual premium to be able to use its widgets. I now regret recommending this app to the dozens of people that I have, I feel as though I’ve misled them in some way. I see that the developer reads this stuff. This app has literally been a lifesaver, and I will continue to use it because it’s helped me manage my ADHD so well. But the lack of integrity and transparency upon the purchase is really disheartening. I’m still giving it 3 stars, as opposed to the 1 I almost gave it, because it truly is an incredible app, and has helped me have a more organized life.

Developer Response ,

Hi there, I'm sorry for the problem. There was a bug in version 23.1 or earlier where previously unlocked features become locked. This is not intended. Unlocked features remain permanently unlocked and there is no change in this policy. Please update to 23.2 or later to resolve the issue.
