I have tried lots of different tuners for my cello and this is the best one I have found. It tells you if you are to high or to low. It also gives you a recording of what your string should sound like.

I like this but sometimes it is hard to tell what sound it thinks I’m making because it’s a little late but if you have some patience it’s a really good app for beginners.

There are no directions given for using this tuner. It also needs to be adjustable. The goal note needs to be able to be put on repeat so that you don’t have to go back and forth from instrument to phone, to replay the note.

This update gives your cello tuning a steadier needle, refreshed reference sounds and a smoother start to rehearsal. - Improved pitch tracking: the updated tuning engine follows more sustained notes through some background noise and waits for a clearer note when the sound is uncertain. - Steadier tuning guidance: smoother sharp and flat feedback reduces distracting needle jumps, helping you make small, precise adjustments. - Refreshed cello reference tones: tap the C, G, D and A string buttons to hear the updated sounds for standard CGDA tuning and compare your open strings by ear. - Better reference playback on iPhone and iPad: fixed an issue that made string sounds play too quietly. - More reliable audio when switching apps: microphone tuning pauses when you leave and resumes when you return with microphone permission. Reference tones now stop when the app leaves the foreground. - A focused first launch: new installations open in cello mode. Chromatic mode is still available, and your saved mode is remembered. Get the best of both approaches: tune by ear, then check the needle. Bow or pluck one string at a time and get back to making music.
