AirKey helps customers verify their identity by simply tapping their AirKey-enabled card to their phone. With the AirKey app, you can learn more about how the AirKey technology works and try it out. All you need is an AirKey-enabled card to get started (just look for the key symbol on the back of your card to determine if your card is AirKey-enabled). What else can you do on the AirKey app? For certain transactions, you can • Review transaction details such as the merchant name, transaction amount, and card details to confirm its legitimacy and • Tap your AirKey-enabled card to your phone to prove the card is in your possession - after successfully authenticating, you continue your shopping experience Internet access is needed to use the AirKey app. Check with your Internet service provider for details of specific fees and charges. I got a capital one card so that I could use it while traveling in Europe and not have to inform my credit card company every time I went to a different country. Unfortunately, every time I made an online purchase they would make me verify it using this app, and while it worked at first, one day it just stopped. Therefore, EVERY SINGLE TIME I needed to buy something online, I was unable to. Vatican tickets, colosseum tickets, reservation fees, etc. I couldn’t even call capital one about it because I had gotten a UK number, and they DO NOT LET YOU even speak to someone if your number doesn’t match a card. Such an unbelievably stupid, frustrating system. Really shows how much they care about their customers.

I’m in a foreign country so I can’t use my cell phone number linked to my cap one account to verify my purchases or login. It should be ok because I can verify by tapping my card to my phone right? Wrong. It simply doesn’t work. I’ve tried 50 times and it worked one time. The one time I got it to work was by restarting my phone, and it didn’t work after that. It just does not recognize any of my three cards. Yes, I’ve done all the troubleshooting. Beyond frustrating. This needs to be fixed or offer another way to verify. I’ve wasted literal hours and countless dollars because of this.

I’m in a foreign country so I can’t use my cell phone number linked to my cap one account to verify my purchases or login. It should be ok because I can verify by tapping my card to my phone right? Wrong. It simply doesn’t work. I’ve tried 50 times and it worked one time. The one time I got it to work was by restarting my phone, and it didn’t work after that. It just does not recognize any of my three cards. Yes, I’ve done all the troubleshooting. Beyond frustrating. This needs to be fixed or offer another way to verify. I’ve wasted literal hours and countless dollars because of this.

It’s not often that I need to use AirKey to verify a transaction. Most of the time when I DO need to verify a transaction however, it’s because I’m trying to purchase a foreign product or service using an online storefront WHILE I AM IN ANOTHER COUNTRY. Unfortunately (I guess because of Capital One’s anti-fraud rules) this app WILL NOT WORK while you are in a country outside of the United States! Thank goodness I have international roaming, otherwise I would be unable to confirm my transaction.

I physically have the card, have the app, received the link, said yes to the text that it’s me making the purchase, and STILL refused! I have to now spend more money by going into the location to make this purchase. With the current exchange rate that’s significantly more money. The response from CapOne.. um, sometimes the system works and sometimes it doesn’t. That’s just great. When I’ve done ALL the verification checks, I should be allowed to make my purchase!!!!
