First of all, YES. You can transfer your data from G**dr**ds and other apps as a you start your Pagebound account. Now for my review. I fell in love with this platform when I was first introduced to the web version. I saw it evolve and even had the opportunity to do some beta testing for the App. Now that the App is out, I’m still seeing some great additions to the platform as it updates. Needless to say, I’m a huge fan of Pagebound; how it functions as a platform, the amazing community feel that it has, and the fun-ness of the gamification of reading. From seasonal read-a-longs, to half-star review system, to (my favorite part) being able to post in forums for each book as you are consuming it in real-time, and discuss the book with others who are reading it or have read it. I feel that Pagebound takes everything we love about other book tracking apps, adds its flare of design and community, and makes it the best App for not only tracking your reading journey, but interacting with other lovers of books, and making it fun along the way. If you’ve tried other apps and don’t like them, try PB! If you’ve tried other Apps and love them, still try PB! I think it’ll be your new favorite.

I don’t usually write reviews but this is by FAR the best book app and is actually the most used app period on my iPhone and iPad. I use it more than even texts/calls. I use it more than any social media combined. It is beautiful and the community is amazing. I love the anonymity. My favorite part is discussing the book WHILE reading it and seeing what other people are saying at the part you’re at. Anti-AI makes it even better. I love everything about it. Jennifer and Lucy, the creators, are always asking for suggestions and making changes for the better. They’re amazing. The app is amazing. If you’re a reader, you need this.The review that said the founders are anti-Irish (odd thing to say) and mean girls is blatantly false. The website isn’t even a year old and the app less than 6 months old so that is why it is English only. We don’t know what updates will happen and if/when other languages will be added. I know nothing of coding. That and being anti-AI.

There are now so many apps billed as “Goodreads alternatives” out there that are all ok but never really stuck for me. They’re either way too much like social media or not social at all, too ugly to look at or more aesthetic than it is functional. Pagebound is exactly what I was looking for! “Like Goodreads and Reddit had a baby” is the perfect tagline - text based forums are my favorite way to discuss books, and this is the first app that I’ve seen do this successfully. It’s like all the perks of a book club but none of the drawbacks! The app is sleek and beautiful to look at - the design is so cohesive and intuitive to use. The community is so kind and there’s ALWAYS some kind of discussion going on in a book that I’m reading, which I love! The app is still new so there are lots of features that I hope they introduce, but what’s there is so polished already. I’m excited to use Pagebound everyday and happy to finally leave Goodreads (and Storygraph, Fable, etc.) behind!

I began using Pagebound on web, before they announced their app. After discovering them on social media, I loved that I could catalogue all the books on my physical shelves, create digital “bookshelves”, and track my TBR list on a digital platform. They have every book I own listed, and I keep discovering more & more to add to my never-ending TBR. The interface is really easy to use, keeps it light and entertaining, and I love the way the app is organized. Super user friendly!The social function is 100% amazing and gives an added layer to this - it can be tough to find community in reading, find people with similar taste, etc. Their Taste feature is great for helping me get recommendations from people who read similar genres, and even search for recommendations from people who are nothing like me. And in today’s world, I’m always looking for more community & more embracing of book culture. Thank you, PB!
