SwiftBrief
Read Faster. Understand More.
$2.99
SwiftBrief now spans iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch. New quizzes turn your PDFs and books into quick questions, so you know what you’ve taken in.
SwiftBrief is a focused speed reading app for PDFs, EPUBs and web articles. No accounts, no cloud uploads - just guided reading that keeps the source document visible while you work through it.
Import a PDF or EPUB from Files, paste a webpage URL, or send a PDF or webpage in from the iOS share sheet. From there, a split-view reader guides you through the text one word at a time — with the original document always visible. Pause, adjust your speed, skip back, and pick up exactly where you left off.
On supported Apple devices, SwiftBrief can generate on-device document summaries and quizzes using Apple Intelligence — and open summaries directly back inside the Reader. Long documents are summarised while you keep using the app, and an interrupted summary picks up where it left off. No data leaves your device.
The companion Apple Watch app brings your summaries and quizzes to your wrist. Read a summary one word at a time, test yourself with a quiz, and your place follows you back to your iPhone — sent directly between your iPhone and Apple Watch, with no account or cloud.
Adaptive pacing adjusts naturally around longer words and punctuation, so reading feels measured rather than mechanical. Reader settings let you tune speed, font size, accent colour, and more to suit how you work.
Your library keeps everything organised with filters, progress tracking, and favourites. The Stats tab tracks words read, time saved, and your reading milestones over time.
Everything stays on your device. No sign-in required.

New: Quizzes
Turn any PDF, EPUB or article into a short multiple-choice quiz and find out what you actually took in. Each question shows the page it came from, your score builds as you go, and you can retry the questions you missed or create a fresh set. Find them all in the new Quizzes tab. Requires Apple Intelligence.
SwiftBrief on Apple Watch
Summaries and quizzes you create on iPhone now appear on your Apple Watch. Read a summary on your wrist, answer quiz questions, and your place follows you back to your iPhone.
Summaries for long documents
Start a summary of a long PDF or book and keep using SwiftBrief while it works. Progress shows page by page, and if you leave the app or it’s interrupted, the summary picks up where it left off instead of starting again. Long documents are also summarised noticeably faster.
Also in this update
• Open SwiftBrief in more than one window on iPad
• Large PDFs and EPUBs open in the background, so the app stays responsive
• More consistent summaries and title suggestions from Apple Intelligence
• Clearer VoiceOver labels in the library
