Do you spend too much time figuring out what to make for dinner? Do you ever get to the store and realize you forgot to check the recipe first?
Ready Set Eat is a free meal planning app for families. It keeps all your recipes in one place, helps you plan your meals for the week, and builds your grocery list for you.
TONIGHT
Open the app to what's for dinner: tonight's dish, a countdown to the table, and three quick steps. Ready shows what's still to buy, Set makes sure everyone has a plate, and Eat tells you when to start cooking.
SAVE YOUR RECIPES
Add any recipe with a photo, star rating, ingredients, and step-by-step instructions. Import a recipe from any cooking website by pasting a link, or scan a cookbook page with your phone camera. All recipes are saved to your private iCloud account.
PLAN YOUR WEEK
Build a meal plan for each day of the week. Choose breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. The app can suggest meals for you based on your star ratings and how long it has been since you last cooked each dish. On busy calendar days it suggests quicker meals automatically.
GET YOUR GROCERY LIST
Once your week is planned, the app builds a grocery list from your recipe ingredients. Items are sorted by store section so you can move through the store fast. You can add extra items by hand. The whole list can be shared with anyone.
SYNC WITH YOUR FAMILY
Connect with a partner or spouse using iCloud. When one person changes the meal plan or checks off items at the store, the other person sees it right away on their own iPhone.
CALENDAR
Add your planned meals to your iPhone calendar. The app can read your calendar to spot busy days and suggest quick or slow-cooker meals for those nights.
YOUR DATA STAYS PRIVATE
Your recipes and meal plans are stored in your own personal iCloud account. Ready Set Eat never sells or shares your data with anyone.
Ratings & Reviews
Ready Set Eat 2.0 is a whole new look, built around one question: what's for dinner?
• Tonight: open the app to tonight's dish, a countdown to the table, and three steps. Ready shows what's left to buy, Set covers everyone's plate, and Eat tells you when to start cooking.
• A bold new design, a new icon, and a new tab bar. Settings now lives behind the button in Tonight's corner.
• Recipes: one search box, one row of filters, and bold covers for recipes without a photo.
• The list: a big count of what's left, bigger checkboxes, and which meal each item is for. Long-press an item to edit it.
• Groceries file themselves into the right aisle, and the list runs in the order you walk the store.
• Plan hot dogs and it remembers the buns. One tap adds what a meal usually needs.
• When a kid needs their own plate, their dinner goes straight onto the grocery list.
• Import recipes from more websites and from social media captions.
• Recipes keep the ingredient order and groupings they were written with.
• Settings › Sync Status shows what family sync is doing.
