OSPOS is a free point-of-sale app for small merchants who want a transparent, no-subscription way to take payments.
Pricing, in plain language:
Cash transactions are free, forever. They work offline with no signup.
Card transactions cost Stripe's standard processing rate (currently 2.7% plus 5 cents per in-person tap in the US) plus a 1% OSPOS application fee. Both fees are visible line by line on your Stripe dashboard. There is no monthly subscription, no setup fee, no contract, and no hardware to buy.
Your iPhone is the card reader. OSPOS uses Apple's Tap to Pay on iPhone. No external reader to lose, charge, or replace. Accepts contactless credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay.
Approval in about two seconds.
You own your Stripe account. OSPOS uses Stripe Connect Standard, which means your business connects to Stripe under your own account, not a sub-account that we control. You get the full stripe.com dashboard, daily payouts to your bank, and you can disconnect us at any time. Your transaction data exports to CSV anytime.
Card data never touches our servers. It travels from the customer's card, through Apple's Secure Element, directly to Stripe. We've put the app through OWASP MASVS mobile security review.

Who it's for:
Coffee shops, juice bars, bakeries, ice cream stands, food trucks, pop-up stalls, market vendors, bars,
breweries, salons, mobile services, and any solo operator who wants a cash register without the markup.
Who it isn't for yet:
Full-service restaurants needing table management, kitchen tickets, or item modifiers. Multi-location
chains. Inventory-heavy retail. E-commerce. We do not try to be all of those things.
Requirements:
iPhone XS or newer running iOS 16.4 or later. US-based business with a US bank account. Other countries
(Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Ireland) are planned for the next major version.
