you're heading to work, across town, home for the weekend. someone else needs to go the same direction. hytch puts the two of you together and you share the drive.
it isn't a taxi app. nobody gets sent to come and get you, there's no fare, and no money goes through hytch. before anyone agrees to anything you both see what it actually costs: the extra miles and the extra minutes. usually not many, because the trip was already happening.
both sides choose. the driver decides where they'll pick up and drop off, and approves every rider. the rider sees who's driving, what they drive, and how far out of their way it takes them. either of you can say no, every time.
you can verify a school or work email to get a badge and filter to people from your own network, though you don't have to. you can block or report anyone. when you meet up, a four digit pin makes sure you're getting into the right car. while you're on the road you can share your live trip with someone.
