Yarna: Knitting Row Counter
Crochet Counter & Chart Maker
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Counters that feel right, a ruler that keeps your place in any PDF pattern, and a chart editor big enough for a blanket. Free backup. No subscription required.
The knitting and crochet companion: counters, chart tracking, and your whole pattern library — in one calm, cozy app.
COUNTERS THAT FEEL RIGHT
Tap anywhere on the screen to count a row. A gentle haptic on every stitch, a different one every tenth, so you can count without looking. Undo is always one tap away, and every single change is saved the instant you make it — close the app mid-row and nothing is lost.
REPEATS THAT COUNT THEMSELVES
Keep as many counters as your pattern needs, and link them. "Repeat rows 1–4" becomes a counter that goes up on its own, every fourth row. No more losing track halfway down a sleeve.
YOUR PATTERNS, WITH A RULER ON TOP
Bring in PDFs and photos of patterns. Drag the row ruler onto the line you're working, then step it down one row at a time. Mark the page up with a pen, a highlighter and notes — that is free, and it stays free. A floating counter chip rides along, so you never have to leave the page.
A CHART EDITOR THAT ISN'T A TOY
Colorwork, filet crochet, C2C, cross-stitch. Paint, line, box, fill and eyedropper tools, your own palette, up to 200 x 200 stitches, smooth to pan and zoom. Track your current row inside the chart, linked to your counter. Export to PNG or PDF when you want it on paper.
FREE ICLOUD BACKUP
Your projects sync quietly to your own iCloud, on every device you own. No account to make, no password to forget, no server of ours in the middle. Backup is free here — one of the big apps sells it as a $9.99 add-on.
MADE FOR REAL HANDS AND REAL EYES
Big type that scales all the way up, VoiceOver labels on everything, 44pt targets, and a keep-screen-awake switch so the display doesn't die mid-row. Seven themes, from warm cream to true dark to high contrast.
WORKS ANYWHERE
No account. No internet needed. Everything is on your device.
