M8 supports portrait and landscape orientations on iPhone and iPad. Projects, instruments, samples, themes, and rendered audio are accessible through the Files app. Built-in contextual help explains every view with shortcuts.

I never had an m8, so I made a headless teensy 4.1 with a TrimUI brick retro game player and a 3d printed backpack, and then this app came out for $30 a couple years later. It’s like I have two now and that’s awesome. I love that I can screencast to my Roku tv and use my phone like a gaming controller. The sound on the iPhone is way better than speaker I had before so I get a better reference without needing headphones or having to sit and plug in so much. I can download samples and record samples directly onto the phone with this. It’s awesome. 11/10.

I've been using trackers since MS-DOS in ~1996. The Dirtywave M8 Tracker hardware is an actual dream come true, after literally 30 years of laptops and netbooks and phones and tablets. The only thing missing, honestly, was "use the physical m8 remote for iPad, with the iPad speakers." (an iOS shortcoming, not M8). This essentially solves that, but obviously it's MUCH more. Want a great, quirky, LSDJ-inspired tracker? This is what you want. Want to "try before you buy" the hardware M8? Load this up on your phone or iPad; it's a steal for the price; this is full-album type stuff.

The hardware version has been recreated for IOS and works incredibly well for ios devices. It looks like it supports most if not all of the features so far from the hardware version, and being able to directly import my samples from my files app makes this possibly easier to work with than my actual hardware. Absolutely worth the price, and the devs deserve every bit of credit for making this amazing software available to even more people. Bravo!

I own the M8 hardware and I have to admit I now almost only use the iOS version. It is incredible. An unexpectedly awesome thing about it is that I can use my AirPods and even though normally those don’t work well for music making with the mate because it’s also kind of asynchronous the AirPods don’t really bother me with the delay that they normally have. just one of the best music making apps you can possibly get. It is worth every penny
