Every cut carries the part name, one project holds every material you bought, and the plan is still there tomorrow.
Named parts, not anonymous rectangles.
Give every piece a name as you enter it — Side A, Shelf, Back rail — and the name rides along into the layout, the cut order and the shared plan. At the saw you read a name and a dimension instead of matching a bare number back to a drawing.
One project, mixed stock.
A real build is not one material. Put red oak, pine and a length of moulding in the same project, give each one its own stock sizes and its own end trim, and let the engine keep them apart. Nothing forces you to build a second list because the thickness changed.
Saved cut plans that reopen.
Plans live in the app. Close it, come back on Thursday, and the project is where you left it — pieces, stock, blade width and all. Nothing has to be typed twice because an export went blank.
Every cut eats the blade.
Set the blade width once and the layout accounts for it between every pair of pieces and again when the offcut comes free, because that last separating cut costs material too.

Stock chosen by waste, not by habit.
Give a material several stock lengths and each one is filled, then the size that wastes least wins. End trim comes off both ends before anything is measured, so the usable length is honest.
Type lengths the way you say them.
33 1/2, 33.5, 851mm, 2' 9 1/2 — one field takes all of them. Fractions display down to a thirty-second where it matters, so a 3/32 blade never reads the same as a 1/8 blade.
Linear cuts only, and it says so.
Boards, trim, rod, pipe. Sheet nesting is somebody else's job. Everything runs on the device with no account and nothing to switch on.
