Unlock them by helping prisoners in the story, then cash in your points for coins. • THE PHANTOM IS REBUILT: slip in and out of the ghost world, collect wisps and fight as a sneaky Defence ghost or a deadly Attack ghost. • THE ALCHEMIST MIXES POTIONS: fire, acid and frost react with each other. New classes, co-op fusions and a spooky October surprise! • THE SPIRITUALIST (October only!): a brand-new class that haunts enemies, then POSSESSES them – jump into an enemy's body and fight with its moves. Find Madame Wisp on Floor 2 once you've beaten the game. In co-op you can even possess a downed teammate and use THEIR moves... • LUMINARY or NIGHTBRINGER: two opposite new classes from Vesper on Floor 4 – but you can only ever choose ONE. Light rays, a Prism Spire and a black hole that swallows the whole Pit... or rift slashes, night chains, terrified enemies and a Nightmare that turns them on each other. • CO-OP FUSION ATTACKS: fill the meter, stand next to a teammate and press FUSE for an attack made from both your classes – 153 different fusions! You can also give a teammate bread or a tonic. • The Stormcaller is now the STARCALLER: place stars, join them into a constellation and burn everything that touches the beams. • DRAGON FORM: the Dragoon's ultimate now turns you into a full dragon for 2 waves. • The Phantom has new tricks: haunting Death Marks, executes and afterimages. • Specials are easier to time for every class. • The Reaper is now a limited-time class: Gravekeeper Mort only gives his quest in October, every year. (If you already have the Reaper, it's still yours.) • Gravelmaw is easier. • Fixed: winning a master's "beat the boss" trial didn't count.

Master your class! • MASTERY: four new masters wait in the Floor 2 Quarry once you’ve beaten the Warden. Finish a master’s 7 trials, reach wave 50 and use a Master’s Sigil to unlock a mastered class: the JUGGERNAUT, STORMCALLER, PHANTOM or DRAGOON. Each one plays like a brand-new class, with its own moves and ultimate. • 10 NEW PIT BOSSES, from the Rat King at wave 10 to the Pit Lord at wave 100. After wave 100 they come back stronger as Elite, Mech and Possessed versions. • LOOT & CRAFTING: bosses drop loot. Brew potions for your next Pit run, or craft charms to wear in the story. It’s all under Inventory & Crafting. • New enemy ranks in the Pit: ELITE, MECH and POSSESSED. • CO-OP FOR UP TO 4 PLAYERS! Bigger teams face more enemies, and the co-op leaderboard shows your team size. • A brand-new title screen with a sunset view, and a tidier main menu with Settings, Info & Stats, and a new Stats page. • Pit MAX LEVEL 50: after that, every boss you beat makes you stronger. • Martial Artist: CHI is much more useful now, with bonus damage and a CHI WAVE kick. • Pit enemies now keep up as you get stronger, so the fights stay exciting. • Co-op fixes: partners could become invincible, Quick Match could kick you back to the lobby, and a player quitting could freeze the game. You can now see your partners’ weapons, attacks and cloak, and pausing pauses for everyone. • Fixed: the level-up menu could get stuck when there was nothing left to upgrade.

More ways to team up! • QUICK MATCH: tap Co-op, then Quick Match, and you're paired with a random player who's also waiting. • NEARBY CO-OP: play with an iPad in the same room. No Game Center needed, and it even works on the same account! • PLAY WITH A FRIEND: invite them through Game Center, just like before. • LEADERBOARDS are now on the main menu. • Martial Artist: the full combo now lands (up to 8 hits with lots of chi), every strike stops the enemy's attack, and combos work on bosses. • Fixed: a quest key could still be lying on the floor in older saves. • Fixed: the Quarry barrel next to a combat-key room could trap you behind the gates.

Team up! • ONLINE CO-OP in the Pit: fight the waves together with a friend through Game Center. Dare to try HARDCORE CO-OP? Get knocked out and you stay out! • GAME CENTER LEADERBOARDS: highest Pit wave (showing your class), most knock-outs, and best co-op wave. • LEGEND MODE is brand new: a whole new cast of prisoners with new side quests. The legendary ending needs all 46 achievements! • A 4th secret to find: MISO, a cat who sniffs out useful things. (Mr. Whiskers is now called Nori.) • Reaper: a boomerang SCYTHE THROW, the Lich's Grimoire upgrade and a scarier Grasp of the Dead. • Assassin: the new NIGHTFALL ultimate and the Shadow Monarch upgrade. Shadow Counter now powers up spells and heavy attacks too. • Combat-key guards now fight with special attacks. No healing until you win! • Pit achievements fixed, iPad spell buttons moved next to your controls, and lots of balance changes and fixes.

THE SPIRE – A HIDDEN FOURTH FLOOR • Beat any secret level and a hidden stair opens to Floor 4: The Spire. It's the biggest floor yet! • 10 keys to find, a Spire Crypt to break into, and a reward waiting at the very top. • Explore five huge optional wings: the Great Library, the Aviary, the Clock Face, the Undercroft and the Cistern. • 11 side quests on Floor 4 alone, with new prisoners to meet. • The secret level endings now fit the story: the prison still stands, so there's always a way back up. NEW CLASSES FOR THE PIT • WIZARD (unlocked from the start): Fire, Frost and Chain Lightning spells, and elemental reactions like Shatter, Overload and Steam. His heavy, Arcane Blast, gives you mana back. • ALCHEMIST (quest on Floor 3): splash vials, acid bombs, and Transmutation turns enemies to gold. Your bread and potions are 20% stronger. • MARTIAL ARTIST (quest on Floor 3): a combo of different strikes that ends in a stunning Roundhouse Kick. More chi means longer combos! • Every unlockable class now has its own 5-part quest, with puzzles, trials, races and no-hit challenges. CLASS REWORKS • Guardian: hold heavy to block. Raise the shield just in time to PARRY, which bounces projectiles back and even dazes bosses. • Berserker: a double-hit Spin, a real Leap Slam, and Momentum (chops get faster in a row). • Reaper: you choose when to spend your souls (hold H, or the SOUL button). Wraiths now stay until they're destroyed. • Martial Artist: you choose when to spend chi on the Flying Kick (hold H, or the CHI button). • Archer: the Skyfall ultimate knocks out every enemy it hits. THE PIT • Masteries: a powerful final upgrade for every class from wave 25. • Specials are easier to pull off. Melee classes press QUICK and HEAVY together. Ranged classes press HEAVY while their shot is still flying. • Combos only break if you miss, and every hit after the 3rd does even more damage. • 4 Pit Challenges from prisoners in the story: no running, no upgrades, no getting hit, or a Pit full of gold elites. • 9 new Pit achievements. • Bosses now get tougher as you get stronger, so later bosses are a real fight. SMARTER, TOUGHER GUARDS • Once a guard spots you, they won't stop chasing until you hide in a barrel! • Guards lunge when they get close, so you can't just sprint past. • Guard hits take 1.5 hearts or more (half hearts are new). • Guards get faster on every harder difficulty. FIXES AND IMPROVEMENTS • Tips disappear after a few seconds. • Prisoners no longer stand right next to lanterns, so fast travel always works. • Lots of balance changes and bug fixes.

BUG FIX • Fixed a crash when pausing the game on iPhone and some iPads. THE PIT • Weapons are now CLASSES: Brawler, Spearman, Archer and Assassin. • Knights have a new attack: two spins, then a lunging stab. • Brutes, bullies, captains and mini-bosses now hit harder. • The Archer's Rain of Arrows now hits harder than a normal arrow. • Perfect Echo can show up from wave 10 once you have a double-hit ability. • The boss health bar no longer covers your XP bar.

NEW: THE PIT - a whole new combat mini-game! • Find the Pit Boss in the Quarry on Floor 2 and survive his challenge to unlock it. • Then play it any time: Main Menu > Mini-Games > The Pit. • Pick your weapon: Shiv & Hammer (with 50% more hearts), Spear, Bow & Arrow, or Assassin daggers. • Endless waves that get harder, with mini-bosses every 5 waves and 3-phase bosses every 10. • Level up and choose upgrades - many have 5 levels. Earn your weapon's gear, forge it, unlock its special attack, its final technique and an ULTIMATE. Your weapon looks different at every stage! • Quick and heavy attacks, finisher moves, combos and critical hits. • Energy tonics for unlimited stamina when you need it most. • 4 Pit difficulties and 3 Pit save slots - leave mid-run and carry on later. NEW IN THE PRISON • Tic-Tac-Toe with Scratch - win to unlock it in the Mini-Games menu. • New side quests, and some keys now come from quests. • Some keys are guarded in combat arenas - you'll have to fight for them! • Answer prisoners in conversations, and every prisoner has their own look. • Guards have special attacks you need to dodge - lunges, crossbow bolts, spinning knights and more. • A new difficulty above Nightmare: INFERNO. • Animated story cutscenes and boss defeats. • Throw pebbles to distract guards. Plus lots of balance changes and bug fixes.

The 1.1 update is here! • New difficulty settings: Easy is now much friendlier (7 hearts, weaker guards and bosses), and the menu explains every difficulty. • Clearer objectives on Easy and Medium, with a gold marker on your map showing where to go next. • Helpful tips for new players: captains, brutes, knights, barrels, checkpoints and more. • A secret floor: The Hollow. Relight the beacons and face the Entity. • The Riot: a whole new level before the rematch with the Warden. • The Great Breakout gets the Chief Engineer, falling debris and a new escape ending cutscene. • New quests: zombies, the Keymaster, map quests, and new prisoners with their own stories. • Replay finished secret levels, and rematch the Entity from its throne. • Play on Mac (Apple silicon) with keyboard and mouse. • Shadow Cloak and many other bug fixes.
