The GeoBallistics mobile app is powered by the BallisticsARC (Ballistics, Atmospherics, and Range Card) solver, and combines the functionality of a ballistics calculator, an atmospheric device, and a GPS rangefinder into one application.
The BallisticsARC solver is an advanced 3 DOF solver with provisions for MV vs Temp, Coriolis, spin drift, crosswind jump, moving targets, multiple targets with unique azimuths and angles and much more.
GeoBallistics includes 4 modes: HUD Mode, Chart Mode, Map Mode, and Comp Mode. All modes are accessible with 1 custom rifle. In order to add additional rifles and save/export range cards, use Kestrel devices, or backup data online, you must upgrade to the PRO version for a one-time fee.
HUD Mode puts everything you need on one screen for a single target. This is also where the moving target feature and max ordinate display is located.
Chart Mode is a traditional calculator that allows for a complete solution. Solutions include considerations for gyroscopic drift, Coriolis effect, wind influence, shot angle, atmospheric conditions, and more. Chart Mode also allows FREE integration of the WeatherFlow products.
Map Mode allows users to range targets by dropping pins on satellite imagery of a shooting location. Range and solution are displayed by tapping on the target pins. Map Mode also introduces external ballistic data overlays on satellite imagery. These overlays display a bullet's performance along its path according to parameters specified for each rifle profile.
Comp Mode allows the user to enter a course of fire with multiple targets with unique variables such as shot angle and shot azimuth. Now features the Holdover Data Zero setting (HDZ) calculator. This is a first-in-class feature that allows you to easily set an optimal zero for holdover stages.
Seems to be lacking in a lot of ways. Got spoiled by the app that was lost after the sanctions. Other alternatives are good, but one would think Vortex/Geoballistics would have more adequately filled the void. The point of impact with the Geoballistic app is off relative to other “proven” apps I’ve used at distances 1800yds+. Also, finally releasing reticles was a relief, but then I was quickly disappointed to find out they only have Vortex reticles, and it doesn’t show the target along the horizontal axis of the reticle; most people are dialing vertical dope into their scope and using the horizontal reticle for wind, spin drift, etc. Also, when entering multiple BC’s (at various velocities as the bullet slows down in flight) for a more accurate trajectory, it does not save them. When I close/ re-open the app there is only one BC entered — even though I had recently saved multiple BC’s for that profile. These are my biggest complaints at the moment. Will continue to use it as an adjunct to other apps given Geoballistics is integrated into my rangefinder.
Has potential.

So far while playing with the app it has potential. The free version gives you one rifle set. It starts out as a 6.5 Creedmoor but that can be changed. The set up is a little confusing but in working with it it may sort itself out. But could be better. The map feature is a very neat feature and seems to be very accurate. I pulled up the range I go to and know the distances to targets and this seemed to measure it quite accurately. Here is the issue I have and why 2 stars. It cost 15 bucks - it could be worth it if the map itself was accurate and up to date. My outdoor range goes out to 1200 yards and has a covered shooting area the length of a football field and has been that way at least since I have been a member for 4 years. The map as pictured only shows a shooting deck that is only a 1/4 of what it currently is. Indicating that the map is very out of date for that location. On a different location it seems to be about a year out of date for my actual location as I can see the neighbors are building a pool and they started that a year ago. So if you do use this app I would highly recommend before purchasing to look at all areas you may shoot or want to shoot and see if the map data is accurate. I will play with this a little more after I zero in my 338 Lapua and see how the app works. I’ll update the review then.Quick update: I just searched google maps and their map is the same out of date map for my gun range In Chapel Hill TN. Now when I look at Apple maps the map is much more up to date. But Apple maps is over 3 years out of date for where I actually live in Nashville. So maybe there is no good source for map data. So maybe not worth the 15 dollar price tag.

The maps are from Google. Thanks for trying our app. Sorry you didn’t like it.
Geo Ballistics is Simply Better
Dawntuner
Is my personal opinion GB beats them all even though others provide some other fancy bells and whistles. Simply put, Geo Ballistics matches exactly with the dope provided by Applied Ballistics. That to me is what defines excellence. One particular example, and a BIG ONE at that, is how it treats the calculations for Spin Drift and Coriolis by providing the needed azimuth of fire as a required input! some big name calculators out there, including JBM Ballistics which is the math engine GB uses, surprisingly don't include this needed parameter to be able to determine if we are adding or subtracting from our total dope! They would for instance, make the deviation from spin drift additive to your total dope when shooting due North with a cross wind @ 90deg on a barrel with a right hand twist! What in the world? 🤯🙈Are there other calculators out there that perform as well? Perhaps but I haven't found it in Apple store. If you match my Kestrel+AP, I trust you to know what you are doing. Otherwise go back to the drawing board and pick up a learning book.
Would be 5 stars just needs a tweak
Motoman21
Went and shot a match and was way off due to user error and app incompatibility with apple dark mode while imputing info for a new ammo I did not see I didn’t select moa due to the app making it basically impossible to see what one you selected if you have your phone in dark mode and after the match looking at the table I noticed it said mils not the usual moa. I went back to the ammo edit and then realized I could still not tell what I selected until I turned my dark mode off then you can clearly see what one you selected. If that could be fixed it would be 5star all the way

Thanks for the review! New app is dropping soon, and this issue is certainly resolved.
