In the great big crowd of social media apps, Instagram continues to stand out for a reason: it makes sharing moments with everyone in your world easy, speedy, and fun. Whether you’re posting breathtaking vacation photos tweaked with one of dozens of cool image filters or a video clip of an insane concert, Instagram’s uncluttered accessibility has kept it at the top of the social-sharing heap.
Maybe I’m Nostalgic
Maybe I’m just being nostalgic, maybe this isn’t a big issue for everyone, but I have a few peeves about the latest update. Before I get into that though, I want to focus on some positive things, things that make me give 4/5 stars. First off, I find the direct messaging to be handy. There are quite a few people I know with very restrictive parents, and Instagram’s DMs give them a way to talk to people without problem. I also like that you can video chat, that’s very useful I think. Second, I like the explore feed, I like that it’s its own tab, I like that I can scroll through it and guess what kind of things will be tailored to me based on the first image, and I like the suggested videos on the sides. I’m not a huge fan of reels, but I have no qualms with it really. Now, what irks me has to do with my main feed. I miss the chronological days, I miss when I could scroll through and know that everything was recent, I miss seeing posts from people I actually follow. With this new update, it’s now even harder for me to see posts from people I follow because I have to manually go to ‘older posts’. I don’t want to see my explore feed on my main feed, I want to see posts from people I follow on my main feed. I hate that I have to turn on post notifications to even know that someone I follow has posted. Instagram, please, if I could ask for one thing, just leave the main and explore feeds separate.
Submitting a problem in the app, no one ever answers
So basically I’ve never had a problem with instagram, i love the app but on occasions i get completely removed the option to share others posts to my instagram story. Ive seen others have the problem as well and as of right now I've been going on for 4 months now repeatedly reporting this error and still getting no response and no fix. There is no way for me to fix it by myself, I’ve gone threw all my settings, deleted the app and reinstalled, signed in and out but yet nothing works. Its a problem the developer or whoever controls fixing updates or bugs needs to look into because it is quite irritating that i am not given this option but some others aren’t. Ive noticed one my main account I'm not allowed the option to share posts to my story but yet on my art account i am given the ability to do so as well. Its quite interesting how they cut it off for only some accounts for on going months. This isn’t the first time this has happened to me either so ive had to sit for months on months with this problem only waiting for the right update to fix it. All im asking is to please fix this issue, i dont know any other way to reach out so this is my last time, I’m tired of reporting this issue through the app and getting no response whatsoever.
