The size of the device is perfect and the ability to add trusted places is nice, however from my experience there seems to be quite a bit of delay in alerting me when my child has left or arrived at a trusted place. Also, I have three other family members apart of my “care team”- the other day I had a bit of a panic moment while I was at work and my child was home with her mother and the other two family members apart of the care team. I get an alert that my child had left the safe place (home) and immediately checked the app. She was two blocks away before even alerting me 😳 and it didn’t say she was with anyone. I called one of the family members at home to ask where my daughter was... turns out she was on a walk with her mom. My wife had her phone, but the device isn’t pairing (via Bluetooth) to it when I’m not in range.A few points of improvement- the ability to add “red zones” aka unsafe places. We have a wooded area behind our house that we would like to know immediately if our child ventures out there. Another is notifications via Alexa of arrival and departure from safe and unsafe areas. Lastly, the ability to refresh the location remotely on demand. Like if I’m at work to check in on my child’s location, “Updated 15+ minutes ago” doesn’t cut it.

I was really looking forward to setting up the jiobit when I received it yesterday. I made an account on the app the day before in anticipation of receiving the device. I go through the steps of setting up the device and when it’s time to process my payment for the subscription, it keeps taking me back to the same payment screen. I deleted and reinstalled the app, and now I can’t login to my account. When I try to login, it keeps asking for my phone number to send the confirmation number to. It’s basically asking me to make a new account when I just want to login, and then it’s not letting me into the account as it gives me the error message that “an account is already associated with this number”. My issue is that this company doesn’t have a phone number to call, or a real customer representative to speak to. You have to chat with a robot who sends you an email saying someone should write me back. For a company that sells a tracking device for safety, you should have a live customer service rep available to speak to. I bought this for my son to wear on an upcoming trip who has a disability, and this is a time sensitive case. I was hoping to start having him wear it today as he went to school. I hope to be contacted today to have this issue rectified. If this is rectified today, I will change my review. But I am feeling unsettled that I can’t begin using this device.

My first charge lasted 12 hours. Now that I don’t use all of the features, it averages 2 to 3 days. If you want to live track, it depletes the battery in a matter of a few hours. Better find your dog quick! If it uses the cellular network, it kills the battery fast. Stay close and keep it on bluetooth and it helps. If you get on the map and make a bunch of safe places, the battery will last longer, but it won’t show you your pets exact location, only that he’s in a certain safe place. I wanted to know where my dog was on the farm, but the battery doesn’t last long enough for this. I had to make the entire farm a safe place to keep the battery up... The map doesn’t have satellite view, so if your out in the country the only reference points are roads. No houses, barns, tree lines, creeks, only roads. Also the map doesn’t show your location in reference to your dog so you have to make your best guess where you are on a standard view map. It gets 3 stars because it works good in town and if your pet is always near a care team member with Bluetooth. Not at all impressed with the 7-45 days claim.

This Jiobit is a pretty amazing piece of tech. It’s about the same size a General Motors key fob,very small for what it does. The battery life all depends on how much you use it. I have yet to completely drain the battery in a single day. Just like my Apple Watch, it goes on the charger at the end of the day and is ready to go the next morning. The charging cradle is so easy to use, just snap it into place and its charging. No messing around with cables facing wrong directions. The Jiobit itself seems to be of excellent build quality and the included attaching clips are very well designed. For example, the belt clip is rounded on the edges as to not pinch the wearer of the device. It clips onto clothing so snugly, I’ve never had a concern it may fall off.The cellular signal is great in my area and I’ve never not been able to connect outside of a trusted area. Aside from an incredible device, the best part about the device is the amazing customer support that comes with it. Their “Jiobit For Families” Facebook page is setup for users of the device. Not only are other users all over answering questions, but Jiobit typically responds within minutes or hours as opposed to days or weeks. Not only are they answering questions, they are listening to their customers and making changes to accommodate the end user!Customer service is not dead, they just all went to work for Jiobit.
