Still a bad app for iPad

The new app version improved, but it still have very limited capabilities. It’s not reliable yet to consider switching from desktop. Some things are working weird, for example there is no search box for your murals, which is time consuming when you have lots of saved murals. When you edit a sticky the app automatically zooms in on the sticky which causes a lot of zoom in and out, and there is no way to deactivate that feature. You cant access templates, and some other key functionalities. I don’t know why they don’t allow you to access Mural from the iPad’s web browser and they force you to use their app, it doesn’t make sense either.

This App Does Not Work

Despite many, many attempts to get this app to work on my iPad Pro, it simply doesn’t function. To add insult to injury, Mural won’t allow an iPad user to use Mural through the browser. It forces us to open the useless app whenever we attempt to access a mural. This means I must instead use my work computer to access Mural and effectively anchors me to my desk, defeating the benefit of using my iPad to perform work. Every single other application offered by my employer through our company portal to my iPad works so I must assume Mural holds the blame here.

It is an endless loop of attempting to log in and then being met with failures. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app dozens of times and followed the directions of my IT department on how to connect. Unfortunately, this app simply does not work. Without the benefit of using Mural on my iPad, I have switched back to OneNote for all of my collaboration on the go. It works perfectly, is secured through my company’s portal and VPN, and allows my co-workers and I to collaborate visually. Best yet: It actually works on my iPad. Flawlessly. Result: No need for Mural, at all. It was a nice concept but without the ability to use it on my iPad there is no reason to bother using it on my work desktop computer.

New updates bring desktop app to ipad - try it again trust me

I have been a long time mural user, so long in fact, that I was part of a small beta group before the app was even publicly released on the web more than 7 years ago. I always liked the web version but the ipad version was never up to the standard I wanted. As times changed, I switched from carrying a MacBook Pro everywhere, to rocking an ipad for almost everything I do. Unfortunately mural didnt have an ipad app I could use, so I ended up switching to other apps like miro (strange naming eh?) and Onenote, and other canvas masked apps and even mindnode for mind mapping etc.

Well, I decided to check on the iPad app today and to my surprise, I got the full desktop web version right there in the ipad app. This is great. They have even added new features like built in connector handles on stickies, full dedicated mindmap feature, and new ai features.

Gotta say, this is one of the best updates I’ve seen in a long time in any app. Brings mural’s tablet apps up to parity with miro, and can also be embedded in notion pages via embedly (like miro) which is exectly what I wanted.

Def give mural another shot on ipad and start your judgement completely from scratch. Not fair to rate the ipad app based on previous versions anymore.
