Description

The monitor mixing app for all Behringer X32, X-Air and Midas M32 consoles with lots of cool features like stereo channels, namable groups and console discovery.

MXBus is a monitor mixing app for all Behringer X32 and X-Air mixing consoles that allows musicians on stage to control their own monitor mix with their iOS device. It also supports the Midas versions of these mixers (M32* and M-Air)

It features stereo channels to save screen real-estate, namable groups and automatic console discovery. Musicians can control the send levels into their monitoring mix bus for all channels aux tracks and effects returns.

It makes the sound check painless and allows you to adjust the mix during the gig.

Some key differentiating Features:
• Linked channels are treated as a stereo channel to save screen space.
• Double tapping a fader knob sets it 0.
• Double tapping the panning control on a stereo channel pans the signal hard L/R. Another double tap reverses the panning.
• NEW: Springboard and Lock Screen widgets for quicker access.

And as always: The app is built with data privacy in mind - no adds, no tracking!

The PRO pack unlocks even more features like:
• Decayed meters with peak memory
• Compression meters
• Gate LEDs
• Channel mute buttons (X32)
• Group mute buttons (X32)
• Unlimited groups
• Scenes
• Bus EQ
• Bus Compressor

What’s New

Version 2.3.6

Scenes can now save and recall faders, panning and mute state (PRO).
A fix for a bug where aux and fx faders where moving when other busses got changed (X-Air only).

The Best

I like this app better than the others because it is easier to use and gives you the ability to save a scene for the various settings. I’ve noticed however, that when saving a scene, it does not record the mix-bus, meaning that if you somehow choose a different mix-bus, and then you load your scene, it does not load your mix-bus but retains the incorrect mix-bus. If you don’t see that you are in the wrong mix-bus, you could re-mix someone else’s monitor mix…. not good. I would also be able to edit the scribble script (only to affect MXBus) to be able to configure off-line before a gig. One last request… separate the Scenes and the Groups buttons to make it easier to tap on the one you want on the small screen.

I’ve been using it for two of my bands with an X32, but would like to use it with another using The Soundcraft Ui24r. Any chance for this?

I'm glad you like the app :) and thanks for the feedback. Scenes are effectively your groups config with a name. They don't include mixer settings. I will experiment with it and see how practical it is to change the selected bus on recall. Locally overwriting the bus/channel names is something I shied away from to avoid confusion when communicating with the guy behind the console. But it is an interesting idea - so I might put it in.

*Almost* Perfect

I have been using this app with the Behringer X-Air XR18 for a while now, and it works beautifully. Connects quickly, easily access levels and busses, wonderful for running in-ears and personal mixes. The ONLY issue I have with it currently is: there’s no way to access the Main L/R mix, only the 6 aux sends. This is an issue for the way we run our mixer, and is incredibly frustrating occasionally to go find a laptop to use to control this. It would be nice if the main mix was selectable like any other aux bus, and would easily bring this up to 5 stars. Still though, very well made app!

Hi Zachary, I'm glad you like the app. On your pain point: It is absolutely by design that there is no access to the FoH Mix. You really don't want your musicians on stage have a way to (even accidentally) mess with your master volume. I can see how mixing yourself from stage on a phone is a pain since the X-Air app won't run on it - but this is not what the app is intended for. Maybe I can offer it as a separate package if I can figure out a way to restrict the access to it.

Exactly what you need for Monitors

As a professional audio engineer, the Behringer app is fantastic on my iPad. However, I do not know what they thought when they made their iPhone version. Trying to walk non-tech-savvy musicians through how to mix their in-ears with Behringer’s app isn’t worth the trouble. This app is exactly what Behringer should have made. Simple and straightforward. My musicians can now focus on their playing and not trying to navigate a complicated app. Props to you for creating this app. Although I do not need the features I will be buying the Pro version to support your work.

I’m glad you like the app. What you describe is the reason I wrote the app.
