Unstable

Of all the Apps I’ve used in my lifetime this one is the most unstable. I have to delete and reload several times a week. Sometimes twice in a day. It is slow and sometimes the functions don’t appear and when they do they are slow despite strong WiFi connection. Just all around very disappointing

Terrible coding

As a clinician in a high-volume setting, I depend on a mobile EHR that is fast, stable, and memory-efficient. NextGen Mobile continues to suffer from major performance issues that appear rooted in unaddressed memory leaks, poor lifecycle management, and inefficient background thread handling. The app routinely hangs during asynchronous data calls, fails to release system resources properly, and crashes without error reporting or logging that’s visible to the end user, making it impossible to give real app feedback to the dev team.

I’ve submitted tickets consistently, yet the core problems persist across updates and devices. The app’s failure to handle caching, session management, and multithreaded operations makes it ridiculously unreliable in a setting where efficiency is absolutely critical.

This is not a UI complaint or isolated bug. These are systemic performance architecture issues that need to be prioritized by the development team. Clinicians are depending on this app in real time, and the current level of instability is unacceptable.

Helpful, but

“View key patient information” is the only function I can use. Very helpful for looking at what is scheduled in the near future and what has happened with those patients. Ability to easily identify types of note (absent in desktop app) makes reviewing the history a breeze. Not helpful for much else. I have been unable to enter notes or use dictation feature. Unable to order anything. If I respond to a Patient Comm, the recipient has reported not receiving the response. With no training, a link to a user manual would be extremely helpful. As a psychiatrist, NextGen (Desktop & Mobile) is the least user-friendly EMR I have encountered.
