Legally and securely notarize any document in minutes from your iPhone or iPad.

Notarize serves every American worldwide. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week—even during holidays. Average wait time is less than one minute.

Traveling abroad and need a document notarized? Can’t find a notary near you? Have a time-sensitive request after business hours? Say hello to Notarize.

How it works: Upload or scan your documents. Next, take a picture of your license or passport and answer a few security questions - this is how we verify your identity. Then connect with a licensed Virginia electronic notary via an audio/video call to sign and notarize your document. Once your document is notarized, you can download, email, and access the file in the app at any time.

Notarize also accepts documents that require more than one signer.

Notarize agents are held to the highest standards and have completed training, undergone background checks, and independently hold insurance in accordance with notary industry best practices. All Notarize agents are electronic notaries located in Virginia.

Are online notarizations legal? YES. We’re able to provide this service thanks to Virginia Senate Bill 827 and House Bill 2318, which were passed in 2011, enabling Virginia-based notaries to perform electronic notarizations online. The service is available to any US citizen, even those traveling abroad, due to the Full Faith and Credit Clause of the U.S. Constitution as well as laws in every state that explicitly accept out-of-state notarizations.

Simply download the app to legally notarize any document, anytime, anywhere.

Apple app telling me to use chrome or Firefox ?

I had been using notarize to both notarize and sign documents without a notary. They now want to redirect me to a notary even with a self signed document. Now their website constantly complains I’m not on chrome or Firefox or a desktop computer. I don’t have a desktop computer, I would not install those apps on my phone for a million dollars , and while i appreciate making use of this feature to sign documents for a year , you taking it away from me now makes you no longer indispensable to me versus other significantly cheaper in person notary options. I never understand why developers take something that’s working well and just up and decide to make it worse for no reason. Giving one star because I patiently ticked off 160 check boxes in this tedious interface on a mobile screen for half an hour before finding this out. I was kind of dependent on your service to get documents signed or notarized in an emergency but if you’re taking this away from me then there is no longer a convenience in me managing all of my notarized and self signed docs . I will find a different solution and do no further business with you. Disappointing because it worked perfectly for at least a year

Easy Peasy and Convenient as Well!

I think this may be the second review I’ve ever written but I was so impressed that I had to write one. I was applying for an LLC and used Incfile to do it. I was required to have a document notarized through Notarize. I was hesitant at first but gave it a try. A couple of days ago I had to have a document notarized for another reason and had to drive down to the community HOA office to find a Notary. For this process through Notarize, I sat in my living room and spent about 5 minutes from start to finish! The notary was considerate and professional. I was astonished how quick and easy the whole process was. I will definitely use this app whenever I need something notarized and it is acceptable to do it electronically. What a superior way of using technology to address what can be a tedious and time consuming task!

Notarize difficult experience

3 hour process. Be sure to block out lots of time. Stick with the web site. The app didn’t work for me.
I initially had audio and video issues with the Notorize web site with Latoya from Florida so I downloaded the Notorize Application. This turned out to be very frustrating because I never moved past the Connect with Notary screen. I spent two hours trying to connect with the app from 4:30-5:30pm and then 9-10pm. I switched back to the web page at 10pm and the audio and video worked and I was connected immediately with a different Notary quickly. Regrettably the Notary’s are not familiar with the Transamerica agreement with Notorize and each Notary had to speak with their customer service due to Iowa regulations. I had two documents that needed to be Notarized from Transamerica and both were uploaded and filled out, but Notarize doesn’t allow the same Notary access both documents so you have to repeat the authorization process multiple times and wait for customer service multiple times.
