Ratings and Reviews
FAIL!
It’s been far far too long now and still no iOS app. It’s now well past the 100 required decision days from the FDA since Insulet claims they have submitted it to the FDA. It’s a utter joke and failure on Insulet’s part. Then they play the silent game by hiding behind auto generated blanket ata menus and act time any body asks about updates to a release date. Very frustrating!
Great Overview - Can’t Wait For iOS App
We’re currently leveraging DIY Looping and contemplating a switch to the O5 system and love how this app gives us the ability to understand the interface and setting adjustments before making the plunge. I understand the negative reviewers frustration that the iOS app isn’t live but that doesn’t reflect on the training tool this simulator provides end users. For T1’s themselves the app would be a huge improvement. For caregivers, the launch of the View and Display apps would be amazing. We’re currently used to being able to get NightScout data and Omnipod View would help give us some of that comfort. I’m hopeful that Insulet will launch fully supported iOS apps in the near future!
Omnipod 5 & Dexcom
I’ve been using the omnipod system since they first released the first wireless insulin pump system. It was not yet integrated with any continuous glucose monitoring system, so I had to enter in my blood sugar levels and calculate my carbs to get the necessary insulin to maintain my glucose levels.
I am now using the omnipod 5 system and Dexcom G6 and I am very happy with the upgrades that are being offered to patients. I do miss the ability for family members to be able to view my insulin pump levels, but the fact that I can allow my Dexcom to communicate with omnipod to keep my blood sugar levels in range is a huge benefit for me.
I highly recommend getting this device!
