The main thing I wanted to achieve with a clipboard app was the ability to open it with a shortcut, and then immediately paste with another shortcut. It wasn’t totally clear in the description if I was able to do that, but I figured there was a good chance it would, and at least the other features would be useful.Turns out it does do that, and those commands are customizable. I’m so pumped. And it’s even more useful than I expected. As a designer I have my color palettes right at my fingertips all the time… it saves hex color codes as colored cards which is crazy useful and was a totally pleasant surprise. The UI is awesome and smooth and the more I use it the more the more I like it. My only pieces of feedback would be to have numbers on the snippets so I don’t have to count when pasting, perhaps only when you have the direct pasting option selected. Also would be great to have the option to keep the interface on screen so I’d be able to keep copying and pasting without having to open it each time. And would be nice to have ability to change sizes of snippets or have some sort of text-only option so I could see more clippings at once. Great app guys, thanks!
When it works, it’s great. Customer service is terrible.

I’m a subscriber. When I had an issue of Paste going into a clicking loop, “copying” every other second (with sound effect), and I could do nothing to stop it other than quit the app (and leave it off — if I reopened it, the same problem appeared). I reached out to Support and got this reply: “it appears that there may be a third-party app that could be interfering with your clipboard” (this was not the case, as nothing changed on my computer prior to this happening); “we've received similar reports regarding PopClip and certain dictionary apps” (never heard of PopClip, and the only dictionary I use is the native OS Dictionary — which I hadn’t been using at the time); “we may not be able to provide assistance with this issue” It turns out “may not be able to” was more of a “won’t”, because although they wrote, “Please feel free to contact us again if you need any further assistance - we're always here to help” and I did contact them, as I clearly needed further assistance (explaining that my case did not match what they said “may be [the problem]” — I never heard from them again. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to expect a second attempt to solve my problem, particularly with more information.
Update makes it perfect and worth a yearly subscription

My primary hobby is playing video games, and I may play a game this year and then the sequel three years from now. By the time the sequel comes out, I usually forget precisely what happened in the first game, so I always write down what happens in the games I play and store them in a database (Ninox) so I can refer to them later. When I type in Pages, I use a character style of red, underlined letters for names so that I can see them easily at a glance. It takes time to type out names and change the styles, and I usually don’t remember how to spell them (especially when they’re native Japanese names), so it’s easier to copy and paste them in. That’s where Paste comes in. I save the names in a pinboard just for that game, hit the universal keystroke, click on whatever name I need, and it’s pasted into my document. This saves me a TON of time and just makes life easier. I use Paste daily on my Mac for more standard things, but the real draw is for easy access to the commonly-used text. Also, I like the clicking sound that Paste makes when something is copied to the clipboard. When I copy something on my iPhone, my Mac clicks so that I know it was copied successfully. All around, it’s a perfect app and better than any of the other’s I have tried on the App Store. There is the issue that I just bought it, and now it’s a paid subscription, but I think it is worth an annual fee, and most Apps need to be continually paid for to support development with new system updates. I do wish the paid subscription would have come with some sort of new feature to make it feel substantial. I’m writing this review today because they did update it with a feature that was sorely lacking, which was the ability to edit clipboard contents right in Paste. Now, you can, so it’s a perfect 5/5 star app, and I recommend you give it a try.
I had no idea how helpful this would be

I originally got this app because I was frustrated about losing something I'd JUST put in my clipboarb by accidentally copying something else before pasting what I wanted, but Paste has dramatically improved my workflow. I truly had no idea how integral Paste would become for my work.Since I can group items by categories, I now have things like hex codes, standard email responses, and links I need to have on hand in their own groups, and it's been amazing. I create a weekly newsletter that needs several items copied from different places, and I can put them all in my clipboard and paste them at once without having to go back and forth. The hex codes also come in handy for that task.Anyway - this is well worth the price I pay for it each year (my office wouldn't get it for me, but I'm happy to pay out of pocket—it's that good).
- Search showing no results? Paste now detects a cleared index and rebuilds it automatically.
- Widgets and the Paste Keyboard start faster and more reliably.
- File previews: bigger thumbnails, clearer details.
- Editing uses the full height — the keyboard no longer crops your content.
- Activated a license from our website? It no longer gets dropped and asks you to re-activate.
- Visual polish: cleaner sheets, dark-mode fixes throughout.
- Under the hood: Paste now self-recovers from a rare error that could cause crashes at launch.
