Reading in your format

The PocketBook Reader reading app allows you to read comfortably, ad-free and absolutely free of charge on iOS devices, not only online but also without connecting to the Internet. The app supports all popular e-book formats, such as PDF (Adobe DRM), EPUB (Adobe DRM), DjVu, FB2,, MOBI, DOCX, RTF, TXT, CHM, HTML (basic), CBZ, CBR, CBT.

Audiobooks and Text-to-Speech

For readers who not only like to read ebooks, but also like to listen, the app supports audiobooks in all formats (mp3 and m4b). It also has a Text-to-Speech function. The sleep timer will turn off the audiobook automatically – so it will save the battery life of your smartphone. You can also take notes in chapters and change the speed of listening.

Virtual library in your pocket

The PocketBook Reader app is your personal virtual library in which you can read ebooks with many additional features. The reading app provides access to network directories (OPDS) and supports Adobe DRM. The ability to open a packed book saves your time. The reading app also offers a convenient search in books.

Maximum comfort of reading

The free PocketBook Cloud service syncs personal ebook libraries and reading settings between mobile devices, as well as E Ink ereaders online. Get the free storage for ebooks for comfortable reading in any format. Start reading an ebook on your smartphone and continue reading on the ereader at the same reading position. To log into the PocketBook Cloud, it is sufficient to use the login data (email address and password) of the account of your bookstore. If you’ve purchased ebooks on Google Books, you can sync them to your library by just one click. The integrated Dropbox service syncs your collected ebooks and provides a quick access to your files.

Database of personal knowledge

The PocketBook Reader app helps to write down and remember the most important you take out of a book. Highlight directly in the text, write comments and take notes with your fingers! Mark pages using bookmarks! Export notes to a separate file and send them by e-mail. The navigation inside the book is easy, the access to content and notes straightforward. Those who read large PDF or DJVU files will appreciate the cropping function. The PDF reflow feature allows you to easily reformat the text for display on small screens.

Assign, choose & personalize

Take advantage of the versatility of the reading settings of your reading app - change font size, text and background colour, customize the width of fields and much more. For most of the book formats, four basic colour themes are preset: night, day, user and newspaper. Also, the app has three reading modes: one page, two pages and scrolling. The pages can be scrolled by touching or gestures. Even automatic scrolling can be set.

Love it! One suggestion...

Love this app. Only thing that could make it better is a pages left in chapter feature. Hope to see it soon. Thanks for the hard work on this! It would be nice if it had how many pages left in the chapter being read is all I meant.

Maybe in future.
Have a pleasure reading!

A clumsier version of iBooks

I use this for reading books from eLibraries. The functions present are mostly the same as iBooks, which I like, but the control is clumsier – it has a maddening lag whenever you tap to flip the page.

Technically the lag is inevitable: it has no way to tell whether you are double-tapping except waiting for the second tap to come. It still prevents this app being otherwise snappy.

Oh and it has a noticeable lag when you try to bring up something, be it the UI or text-to-speech bar.

excellent new reader application - I hope it keeps improving

The name is nostalgic reminder of popular reader more than 15 years ago. The UI is innovative and good. The layout of the books is very good. I would recomment adding a sellection of fonts. So far I did play only with epub books but I plan to check some more. The Library support appears to be multilingual but I could not find a language selector. Also I could not access my home OPDS server (that I can access in Kybook).

Thank you for review.
We already have an eInk readers :) And the reading process is synchronized between eInk devices and iOS or Android devices. For example you can start reading the book on the iPhone in the café and continue reading at home on Touch Lux.
We plan to add more fonts. Now you can only choose between sans and serif. However, additional fonts should be available in future releases.
You need language selector for what? I don't understand your idea...
We have OPDS support. Maybe you can explain more?
Have a pleasure reading!
