Use to work, and now it’s dead

I used it for years. The latest versions broke the app somehow and it won’t connect to the NAS. QVIDEO works just fine and I can’t find any issues on the QNAP to cause this.

Lots of shortcomings

The app constantly disconnects in the middle of browsing folders, even on superb WiFi

If there are a lot of photos on the box, when opening up the app, it takes over 30 seconds before it times out trying to show shared photos. You then have to go and manually select folders and navigate to your photos if you want to see them. Very annoying.

When you’re browsing folders, and want to get back, the app resets you to the beginning of the folder list. If you have hundreds of folders, going back means you have to scroll back down to where you just were, periodically being interrupted by loading messages that takes 3-5 seconds.

Thank you QNAP

I’m not sure why there’s so many low ratings. I see folks complaining about accesss to their qnap server outside their network. This seems to work fine for me. I set mine up with qnapcloud ID and I made sure use The qnap app CloudLink to update my route to include port forwarding rules to allow internet access to my server.

Overall I have to say it’s a fantastic app and overall great experience on my new Qnap server
