Card Services:

• View and redeem your RCU credit and debit rewards points for cash or other rewards.
• Not using your debit or credit card? Freeze it for extra security until you’re ready to use it again.
• Report your credit or debit card lost or stolen. (This will cancel your card and issue a new one, so if it’s only misplaced, freeze it instead.)
• Gain control over your spending with debit and credit card alerts and controls. Block online transactions or set alerts for purchases above certain amounts.
• Add upcoming travel notes to ensure access when you’re out of town.
• Adjust ATM and debit card purchase limits to meet your needs.
• Set your PIN on all your cards. Update your PIN on existing cards or set the PIN on your new card.
• Activate new credit and debit cards.


Mobile Features:
• Landscape view for iPad—adjust the app to your preferred orientation.
• Autocapture for mobile deposit takes the pictures for you—just align your camera over the check.

Best banking experience

I had just started my work career and had no good or bad credit history just moved into a bigger place to call home for my new family I met my banking agent Leia was so helpful in explaining everything I needed to know to start a plan that would help me establish a direct deposit with my employer, a savings and debit card , that lead to to my first credit card and shortly after my very first car loan and now me and my family have a beautiful SUV. Red wood Credit union is by far the best banking experience I’ve ever had. My step son has his first job and
Myself along with his mom was so very proud to sit with him while he opened his Redwood Credit union account. Not only myself but about half of the staff at my job bank with Redwood Credit Union. . I recommend them to friends and family. I am very blessed and grateful to be a member.

Nice clear interface

New app presents very nicely, and is easy to navigate. I’ve only noticed a few things that are important to me that would be nice to see again if possible: the scheduled transfers used to be a menu choice, now I have to search for it to find it; and the interest accrued on auto loan used to be up front on the loan information, now is only viewable by opening the detail menu on the loan, which is okay, just an xtra step. Appreciate all the other new features and probably increased security of the new app, and love being able to access my banking info on my mobile device, thanks RCU!
P.s. noticed desktop login has “scheduled transfers” in the menu, just the mobile app lacks it so far.

Hi Dean,
Thank you for the great review and the 5-star rating. We do have scheduled transfers in the app, but you do need to know where to find it. If you go to Move Money and then select New Transfer/Payment, it will put you on the Transfers and Payments page. You can select the middle tab "Scheduled" to see all your scheduled transfers and payments. You should check out our new Quick Balance widget as well, directions for how to install it are in the menu.

Outdated UI, confusing UX

Very strange UX that was built almost from zero, it doesn’t resemble anything else, it’s hard to navigate. UI is tired, it feels 2014. Learn from your competitors’ app experience, say Wise or Tinkoff, and RCU app will skyrocket in positive feedback. So far it’s always a struggle to use. My number one complaint is not showing the amount and merchant when getting a notification about the transaction. It says, “A transaction occurred, if not you, call this number.” This is so obsolete, it doesn’t bring almost any value to me as a customer. All four banks that I’ve been using had shown the sum and merchant in such notification (which, incidentally, your UX names as “alerts” [??]). Now it makes me wondering if it’s a deliverable decision, my non-profit friends. . . I like the account balance widget though, it’s nicely made according to Apple’s guidelines, well done. If only the whole app was like that.

Regarding the Alert Details, it sounds like you have Transaction Alerts enabled at the account level and not card level which would actually provide you with the merchant and dollar amount details.
