Know before you go. Empower others as you roll.
Roll Mobility makes it easier for wheelchair users, caregivers, and allies to navigate public spaces with confidence. Whether you’re going to a coffee shop, hotel, campus, or event venue, Roll helps you discover how accessible it really is before you get there.
We believe accessibility shouldn't be hidden or hard to find. That’s why we’re building the world’s most helpful database of real, crowdsourced accessibility reviews, photos, videos, and first-hand experiences from people who’ve actually been there.

Perfectly Imperfect—and That’s Why It Works

I found out about Roll Mobility thanks to the podcast, Walk and Roll Live: Disability Stories with Doug Vincent and Addie Rich (great show, by the way—give it a listen if you haven’t). After hearing the founders share their story, I had to check the app out for myself. Now, I’ve seen a few reviews saying, “The app isn’t perfect.”Newsflash: neither is my coffee order, my sleep schedule, or the GPS that told me to drive into a lake. But here’s the thing: Roll Mobility is perfect because it doesn’t pretend to be perfect. It gives the users—the community—the power to shape it, improve it, and make it work for real-life, roll-through-the-world challenges. That’s innovation with a soul. The founders clearly care, and the app is growing in the right direction. It’s kind of like a sourdough starter—give it the right ingredients (user feedback, passion, and purpose), and it rises into something amazing. If you're looking for an app made by people who get it and are inviting you to help make it better, this one deserves the download!
It’s good, but there’s room for improvement.

I work with the elderly, and feel like this app could be a great resource. However, I do have a few suggestions. First, I think there should be an “I don’t know” option that doesn’t affect the location’s score. To me, an able bodied person, a threshold doesn’t normally grab my attention unless I actively trip over it. I don’t want to say there are no issues with the threshold if I don’t remember. This also ties in to places having the wrong filters applied. I reviewed a theater I attend regularly that does not have tables you can sit at, but I wasn’t able to leave the answer blank. Second, there are a few businesses in my area that are missing. I would like if there was an option to add a place. It may be a feature already, but I didn’t see it on my own. Again, I feel like this app has so much good potential. I sent it to many friends, and someone I know that uses a wheelchair. I’m hoping we can get the page for our city fully with reviews. Keep making improvements!
Good idea, poor execution

Really want to love it, it’s useful if you’re just trying to look at the reviews, but it’s very frustrating to use. Search function is terrible. Why do I need to move the map view over to the area the venue is located to be able to search it? It’s all so laggy that the already clunky system is even more frustrating. My biggest issue is there’s no option to leave some areas on the reviews section blank/mark them unknown, which is my biggest issue. I am not a regular wheelchair user, and when I do use one, it’s an unusually narrow one so my experience isn’t very useful. I cannot eyeball 36 inches and I am not going to carry around a tape measure. As is, the options are potentially ruin someone’s night or not provide any info. I’m also confused by there not being a question about whether bathrooms specifically are accessible without using stairs. Yes, there’s the different floors question, but some venues have balconies that aren’t essential to use of the space, and some single floor venues or ones that do have elevators or ramps between floors still have bathrooms only accessible via stairs. I’ve been trying to leave reviews on several venues that have this specific issue and can’t effectively.I’ve been noting this in the extra comments section, but it’s unbelievably annoying. The whole screen literally jiggles with every keystroke. Who could possibly have thought this was a good idea. It’s a nightmare. Overall has a lot of potential and is useful to view, just a real headache to contribute to.
Wonderful mission, too buggy to use
ChipsOnYourSandwich
Love love this app’s mission and intentions but it was too buggy on iOS to use. The search function was hardly usable, it automatically selects filters (don’t recommend that) and the search didn’t really function. Also I see how location access is helpful but you should allow the app to work without accessing location, let people search by town or business name or manually using the map. When I tried to sign up, similarly, the forms weren’t functioning fully and although I wasn’t using Voice Over, honestly I don’t think this app is digitally accessible (ironically). Problems with the form fields, the tap targets are too small, the UI elements don’t have the right order/ placement, and more. It would not pass WCAG 2.2 AA standard and likely wouldn’t pass A standards (lowest bar for accessibility). Please work on the bugs and the accessibility and the privacy and I’ll be happy to come back.
