Ehhhh

The app works okay when you just want to “glance” at the cameras and use the playback feature. Any of the other features are very hit and miss on function. And by no means, and I do sincerely mean never disconnect/disassociate you’re device from the app/cameras. Because you will never get it reconnected. I personally have years of experience with the intricacy of electronics and to no avail on connecting the cameras to the app on my new iPhone 11pro. But they are functional on the in home monitor but that’s pointless when I want to check on my family while I’m out of town. Hopefully they do an update or someone from support will manage to figure out the issue.

Problem

Every time I try to connect to the cameras via my iPhone off my home WiFi network the app simply does not work. They need instructions with a port forwarding subject because everything I read directs me to that. I’ve tried to forward ports in order to see my cameras when I am not home but have failed to do so.
So after I wrote this review I found a really good support thread through cctv and was able to successfully connect my cameras to my phone using port forwarding and a public IP address that it assigned to the open network. That was the problem I was using a private network IP address that began with 192 but I needed to use a public IP address starting with 172 which cctv thread sent me to another website that gave me that IP address. No where in my router did it show a public IP address but I guess there is one.
It would really help if the instructions came with all this information.... the app is great though.

Developer Response ,

Yes, Some routers do not support p2p tunnels and transmit data through server forwarding mode, which is inefficient. This situation is recommended to use the IP connection, transmission efficiency and more stable, but this requires prior configuration port mapping!
You can simply search for the keyword "my public ip address" via google, then some web sites may show your public ip address. You can connect with this public ip address frome any where, but you need to configure the port mapping. If you want to know the router ip address, you should login the router and view the "WAN" and "LAN" information.

Slow loading of cameras and playback

Camera feed loading to your mobile device is so slow. I could hear a noise outside(like a car ) and open the app on my phone to see what it was and I’d miss it due to this slow app taking ages to load the camera system feed! I’m better off just walking to my security system and looking at the monitor b/c this app is so slow and useless. The only reason I keep this app is because I’d like to see what’s going on when I’m away from home and it has a rewind/playback option which is also flawed but at least I’d know what happened I guess... That’s IF I don’t receive the “not enough bandwidth” error and have to wait. It’s also difficult to playback accurately because it’s this slider which markers like a freaking Ruler you measure with. Now imagine trying to look back at a specific time on it. Placing(or sliding if you’re unsure exactly when whatever you’re looking for happened)your finger... on a ruler like line and getting the accurate time... Mhm
