Scanner app

Of all the scanner apps I have downloaded and used, this has been the easiest and best one I have found so far, but keep in mind this is only the opinion of a retired disabled former US Army infantry specialist that has used in many forms of radios and scanners it’s real life and military life. So far this one even beats out the bearcat scanners that I personally have paid hundreds of dollars for to put on my desktop and in my vehicles or carry on my person because I don’t have to pre-program it to the area I’m in. Even the price of it is more than reasonable if I want to upgrade from the free version to the ad free version. It is more accurate than anything I have found in the store and I can switch over whatever county I am in when I am traveling. It works with Wi-Fi or without Wi-Fi. I never give anything five stars because there’s always room for improvement and things are always upgrading and changing anyway, so the best I do just give four stars. Again I remind you this is only the opinion of a retired disabled former US Army infantry specialist it is very familiar with all kinds of radios and scanners. Since I found this one I have not looked for any others. I am put this one on all of my mobile devices. Everybody will find one that they like as I have. This is the one I recommend, but for those that do not like this one you will find one that you do like and remember to write a review about it. Thank you. OEF/OIF Veteran

2 Stars Until Resolved

Not sure what the issue is. But this app has worked all day for me until this evening. I was receiving alerts fine and dandy. And then later this evening everything seemed to stop. I heard that there were issue going on in/and around Dayton, OH where I live near so I attempted to tune in and I was asked to restore my purchase, not sure why but I was. So I clicked restore like it asked me too. Then I received another message after restoring purchase; that said retrieval failed, failed to retrieve directory information. Right now getting a blank screen. Not loading my favorites, and looks like I lost alllllllll my favorites which is very frustrating to go back through and add all the favorites you previously had; time consuming. Currently the app is not loading anything, this is after deleting and re-downloading the app. Certainly not something your company needs to have occurring right now with what’s happening in our world. Just ridiculous.

Regarding updating the app, you should already be able to hear about situations before news outlets report on them as well as still receive the same types of notifications you were receiving previously (now that I restarted my server that sends out the push notifications).

Only Remaining Option for Transparency

I work as a local media source for our small town. The police department has invested in an encrypted program that does not allow our old scanners to hear what is happening. Despite having all of the county’s transmissions, which can honestly be confusing, I’m grateful to have at least some insight into what is happening using your app. We get our reports from the police but there is no oversight on whether what happened in the report is true or not. (Note, our police dept is not corrupt and we have had no problems), but this leaves your app as our only means for oversight. It’s also a valuable resource during storms and other area emergencies. I know staff at our hospital use it to stay informed, as well. Please do whatever you can to continue.
