Secure ShellFish brings SSH to your iPhone and iPad and remote file transfers to the Files app, all in a convenient and easy to use package.
Lightning fast, Secure ShellFish helps you access remote servers and do whatever you need to do – whether that's edit a configuration file or kick off a complete system backup. Even upload files right from your iPhone and iPad – all using the familiar interface of the Files app.
Leveraging the power of the Files app, Secure ShellFish gives users the opportunity to edit files in their favorite apps (Textastic, iA Writer, Pythonista, Ulysses, and more) and have them automatically sync back to a remote server.
Support for the Shortcuts app is extensive and the majority of file-based operations can be automated via shortcuts.
Secure ShellFish is a free download with an in-app purchase unlocking the full functionality. A lifetime unlock costs $19.99 while a monthly option of $3.49 is also available. This allows continually improving the app to support the latest APIs offered by iOS and iPadOS.
A 15-day trial is available so everyone can test Secure ShellFish out to make sure it's the app for them.

Shift+Alt transmitted correctly as Shift+Meta.
Includes the major changes from 2021.40:
Do port forwarding between your iOS device and server. This is configured inside terminal settings and synced between devices if iCloud KeyChain is enabled. Changes made to port forwards from the settings of a running terminal are reflected immediately.
You can also enable Dynamic Port Forwarding that looks for localhost:port mentions in the terminal. As you interact by tapping or dragging these mentions a forward from your device to the server is created on-demand. This is ideal when connecting to test services running locally on your server.
Shift+Tab in terminal transmits backwards tabulator used by some shells to cycle back in command completions.
Snippets support inserting escape characters.
Tapping listing errors in the Files app shows why listing failed.
Fix selection of tmux sessions on iOS 15.

UPDATE: Turning off “Recognise Files” solved my issue and all is well now - thank you!!
Just started using this app. When it works, it’s great and it has nice features. Unfortunately it seems to break more than it works however. The UI constantly locks, whether when I’m about to type a new command in the terminal, trying to run a command within vi, or simply pressing the return key in any circumstance - the UI for the app completely locks up (on-screen keyboard included) for 5-10 seconds. At that point, it will either start working again, or the app will crash and I’m back at my iPad Home Screen.
I’d love to see these kinks worked out! Just starting to look for a shell for SSHing into my home server from my iPad and this app seems to have much more potential over the competition in terms of features and usability (I’ve purchased the Pro unlock too).
Developer Response ,
That sounds awful and I would really like to get to the bottom of this.
Can you tell me if disabling “Recognise files” in terminal settings makes a difference?
Very happy to hear that you are now able to use the terminal without it locking. I will investigate why this “Recognise files” option sometimes causes problems and I hope you will be able to enable it soon.
The new champ
I’m a pro who uses Emacs in an iPad SSH client to do my job. I’ve tried ‘em all. Few have the advanced features, stability and predictability I need.
A while back I used Secure Shellfish as an SFTP solution. I revisited it recently and realized the terminal feature has matured to the point of being more consistent, functional and better designed than any competitors in the store. This app opens up so many ways of working that it immediately took the top spot as my primary professional tool.
While other pro SSH tools are a bit more configurable (such as with the ability to arbitrarily map any key), Secure Shellfish has amazing out-of-the-box defaults. It also has the best app icon! I’m blown away.
Like the traffic cop in the center of an intersection directing traffic, this app elegantly solves problems moving files between my wired ethernet macOS platform and WiFi connected iOS devices. This app is worth every penny for just the time and effort this eliminates when trying to mimic AirPlay's functionality moving files between devices. SSH Cloud server connectivity on iOS is just a plus. The user interface also does quite well taming SSH's many features. Well done!
