SlimLibrary is a player and remote control for the Logitech© Media server. Use it to:
· Browse your entire media library
· Control all your players.
· View album images, like the back cover of the album, or the inner sleeve.
· Listen to music on your IOS device.
· Read the album information that you have uploaded to the server.
· View videos on your ios device.
· Stream any LMS supported streaming service to your iOS device.
SlimLibrary uses a server plugin module to provide additional features, otherwise not available from the Logitech© Media server. (SlimLibrary Plugin currently supports LMS 7.9.1 and above)
Browsing
You can browse your music library by a selected artist, composer, genre or year, or view the newest albums uploaded to your server.
Combine an artist with a genre or year to fine tune your selection.
Choose from multiple possible sort fields to sort your selection by album, artist, year and various combinations.
The SlimLibrary plugin allows you even greater control of your selection by combining multiple artists, composers, genres or years, in a single selection and letting you select an ascending or descending sort order.
In addition the plugin also lets you sort by date added to the server.
Now you can find those lost albums that you have forgotten about.
View album Images*
The SlimLibrary plugin gives you the ability to view any images you have uploaded to the album folder on the server.
Now you can upload and view the back cover or inner sleeve of the album or cd, and view it on your ios device. Scan the booklet that comes with your cd and upload it to your server to view and read it on your device.
Play videos*
SlimLibrary will let you view and play videos the you have uploaded to your server. Video formats supported are the iOS supported formats.
Read album information*
You can upload a text file with album information and display it on your device with the plugin installed. Put
the liner notes in a info.txt file, upload to the server in the album folder and view it on your device.
If you have the "Music and Artist information" plugin installed, the app will display album reviews.
Today View
Quickly acces the main player controls from the today view. Increase or decrease volume, pause or play, go to to next or previous track and open SlimLibrary app form the today widget.

In my opinion, there has never been a better bed-side clock radio made, and I was really looking for a replacement app to remote-control my devices, even though I can access the server web page via Safari, since that is not ideal on a touch screen. I hope one day Logitech figures out what a gem it had and brings it back. If not, Yamaha has great multi-room speakers that I have my eye on.This app has great capacity to browse my collection and create and edit playlists, which is awesome. You lose a star, though, for not allowing me to navigate my collection according to how it is organized on disk by file hierarchy.

Help page within app is blank. Contact us page within app is blank. Select a song, hit play and no sound comes out, time slider does not advance. This app is broken, and trouble shooting is not my job when I paid for the app.

The main menu is now customizable. Go to Settings/App/Customize Main Menu to change the order or to hide menu entries you do not use.
Added Composers view to main menu to display albums for a composers. Filtering by composer has also been enabled. Tap the filter button on the Albums screen to open the Filters dialog.

You can now pre-cache your album artwork. Goto Settings/App and tap the "Pre-cache Artwork" button. Extremely useful after a full server rescan.

We have made under the hood changes to the way the app was retrieving and caching album covers. The size of the cover art should not impact the time it takes to download the art work anymore. And it will significantly speed up the app for users that have larger artwork files.
Now the filter button indicates if you have any filters applied.
Fixed the issue that was causing artwork from the new Spotty plugin not to show.

Increased the size of the letters in the section index on the iPad, for easier jumping to a particular section.
Added a new setting "Precache artwork" in Settings/App menu which, when enabled will pre - download album artwork when the app is launched and WiFi is available.

Previewing an album and/or track allows you to play a different album or track and then to revert back to the playlist you were playing before.

For this update we have made the favorites list editable and have added the ability to add or remove tracks and albums to and from favorites.
If you have the "Music and Artist information" plugin installed, the app will now display the album review on the album display screen. If no review is found the app will still look for and display the content of any info.txt stored in the album folder on the server.
We implemented split screen functionality on the iPad, fixed some display issues on the iPhone 6 + and got rid of many minor bugs.
And also, we introduced the Apple TV version of SlimLibrary.
