SmartSuite App 4+

As a long time Airtable fan this app solves a lot of the feature sets that I have been looking to have. It’s approach to how it links records and how it displays those records are done only in a way SmartSuite can deliver. I have been working with their team onboarding and they have gone above and beyond in my two week trial. So a kind and friendly bunch of folks. I also see them delivering on an aggressive feature set request list, driven by its users, all while keeping the platform stable. I have noticed that all of the data functions super snappy. Looking forward to where this tool is going to go in the future.

I thought this app would be my rescue from Airtable after their terrible attitude towards customers seen in recent changes to their business model. On paper, smart suite was an exciting alternative that offered more for less. But on mobile devices, my primary use case, it’s been too unreliable. I was willing to put up with forms jumping across the screen and losing my inputs right before I saved them, but now after being locked out and completely unable to access my documents, I’m convinced I simply cannot rely on the service. Today, I was logged out on all devices for some reason. Signing in with my Apple ID was simple enough on my phone, but even after restarting both the app and my iPad, I was told on every attempt that my credentials were incorrect - though, again, being identical to those I used successfully on another device.

So far I like the app, but it’s too buggy for me to get to the point where I migrate to it completely.
Specifically, I’ve run into two problems so far.
1. I’m ok not being able to configure forms on mobile, but I would like to be able to at least fill it out, or have easy access to the shared link so I can fill it out in a browser.
2. When I modify records from “My Work”, the changes aren’t reflected immediately, and not even shortly after. Even I go directly to the solution and the app, I still don’t see my changes. After several minutes I have to completely kill the app and restart it to see my changes. For me this is a show-stopper, can’t move forward and get in deeper with this product until the mobile app is more solid.
