Speechometer
Real-time speaking pace coach
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Speak with confidence. Speechometer tracks your words-per-minute live and alerts your Apple Watch the moment you're rushing.
Speechometer helps you catch yourself before you rush.
Whether you're rehearsing a presentation, prepping for an interview, or just trying to slow down in everyday conversation, speaking too fast is one of the hardest habits to notice in the moment. By the time you realize it, you're already through the point you wanted to land on.
Speechometer listens as you speak and shows your live words-per-minute pace right on screen. Set your own comfortable speaking threshold, and if you cross it, Speechometer lets you know instantly and discreetly.
How it works:
1. Tap Start and begin speaking naturally
2. Watch your live WPM count update in real time
3. Set a custom pace threshold that fits your speaking style
4. Get a gentle buzz on your Apple Watch the moment you're going too fast — even with your phone locked in your pocket
Built for real practice sessions
Speechometer is designed to run quietly in the background of your actual presentation or conversation. It's not just a stopwatch you check after the fact. Lock your phone, keep talking, and let your wrist do the reminding.
Privacy-first by design
Speechometer processes your speech only to calculate your pace. Nothing is recorded, stored, or sent anywhere beyond what's needed to measure your words per minute in the moment.
Whether you're a student prepping for a big talk, a professional polishing a pitch, or someone who just wants to slow down and be better heard, Speechometer helps you find your pace.
