Yesterday evening I downloaded three different pedometers from the App Store for comparison with the built-in “Health” app: Steps, Pacer and Stepz. I have never used a pedometer before now. Then I went outside and did my stairs exercise in order to acquire my first set of data so as to compare the different apps.I must say that I like this app — Steps — the most! It is simple and straight forward, and it has just the data that I need — steps, miles, time and flights — without all of the extra data clutter that some of the other apps have.I also like the ease with which I can scroll left or right to see my walking history, or else tap on one of the seven day buttons, or else tap on a calendar button. The graphic interface is very clean and uncluttered, and the themes are pretty and easy on the eyes. While I paid the very reasonable and low price for the “Pro” version in order to get more themes to choose from, I must say that I like the default “Sunrise” theme the most. 😀Let me also add that the steps count with this particular app is very close to the actual steps I physically counted as I did my stairs exercise. I carried my iPhone in my front shorts pocket as I exercised, and I walked on flat pavement in the parking lot, as well as up and down two flights of stairs. The fact that this app integrates with the “Health” app — and imports health data from the same — is an added plus. For the aforementioned reasons, I give the “Steps” app five stars! I encourage everyone to give it a try! 😀
