Description

Meet StreamLabs®, your all-in-one home water solution that protects your home from water damage and leaks from both plumbing and non-plumbing sources. Using a combination of advanced ultrasonic technology and sensors, StreamLabs captures and delivers powerful insights into your water usage – and provides real-time alerts of potential leaks. Manually customize your leak alert settings or let the new learning Smart Alerts™ feature automatically protect your home by detecting any water usage outside of the norm.

Choose from three StreamLabs devices: StreamLabs Scout, StreamLabs Monitor or StreamLabs Control. All three of these Wi-Fi-enabled devices provide leak protection for your home, and work together or independently. The StreamLabs Scout and the StreamLabs Smart Home Water Monitor each install in under 5-minutes with no pipe cutting, tools, or professional installer required. The StreamLabs Control features remote, flow-based automatic water shut-off functionality, and can use alerts from the Scout to stop leaks even sooner for high-risk appliances such as water heaters and ice makers.

The StreamLabs App is mission control for your StreamLabs devices. It supports the Scout, Monitor and Control all in one place to create tailored household leak protection optimized for your needs. In the StreamLabs App, you’ll have access to:

- Live water usage
- Customized leak detection settings: slow and major leak alerts (Monitor and Control)
- Smart Alerts™ learning leak detection (Monitor and Control)
- Freeze alerts (Scout, Monitor and Control)

App Update

I was out of the country when StreamLabs updated their app that caused connectivity to be dropped. I had no control or information on my water system during this time. If they had alerted users to this issue it could have been resolved remotely with a simple upgrade. Also, the app still won’t allow me to name the device and save it to the app.

I was pleased with the app up until this issue. However, connectivity while out of town is critical so I give the App just 2 stars.

App update required to fix incorrect offline indication

I had the same problem as charliephoo, in that my StreamLabs Control suddenly started showing in the app as offline, even though I was still getting both email alerts as well as alerts from the app. I checked their website, reviewing both the troubleshooting and faq sections, and spent significant time following the generic instructions there, which included power cycling the device, re-entering WiFi info, etc., to no avail. I finally emailed their support, and to their credit they promptly responded and told me I needed to update the app to fix this problem. I did that, and it worked.

I understand that any number of events could have occurred either inside or outside their company to cause this, and I appreciate them fixing their app and providing good email support, but if they have faq and troubleshooting sections on their website and they know about this problem, it is hard to understand why they would not mention it there. If they had (and hopefully they will) it would have saved me significant time and energy.

Happy so far

I definitely recommend using something like this to monitor your water usage especially when you're not home. We have a finished basement so a major leak could be catastrophic. This app works pretty well so far - still working on setting the alerts up to get them where I like them. Great idea and we are happy to date. Looking forward to installing a shut off valve that can be controlled away from home in the future.

Developer Response ,

Thank you for your review! Glad to hear you are enjoying the product. Configuring your alerts to suit your water usage is a great way to maximize the Monitor's value. We also highly recommend using Away Mode whenever no one is at home - this way, any flow over 15 seconds in duration will send you an alert. Thanks again for your feedback!
