Super Lidar helps the blind and visually impaired users to locate objects and people around them and understand their surroundings’ layout. With the power of AI and the Lidar sensors, Super Lidar parses the depth of the physical space you are in and finds the objects and people in front of you. Lidar is a type of depth sensor that enhances the capabilities of augmented reality apps and serves as the eyes of self-driving cars which is now available on iPhone 12 Pro. Super Lidar has been specifically designed for the blind and the visually impaired users who want to make sure they maintain social distance and know whether people around them are wearing masks. Full features of SuperLidar: - Depth Description: Scans and maps the 3D layout of your environment to determine the distances of your surroundings and provides sound feedback to avoid obstacles. Higher pitch sound corresponds to longer distances. A low pitch sound indicates an obstacle nearby. Additionally, on iPhones, haptic feedback is provided to indicate an immediate obstacle visible to the camera. Strength of the vibration increases with the size of the obstacle. - People Detector: Detects people that appears on your camera and let you know about their distances to ensure maintaining social distance - Mask Detector: Checks whether the people around are wearing any type of face covering or not Most features work without an internet connection so that users can use it in any situation (without having to have an active connection). The app has full VoiceOver accessibility support and is available in multiple languages. Whenever you get stuck about how to use the app, you can always Request a Call or check the Help screen under the Menu. Super Lidar is developed by Mediate, an MIT-spinoff AI start-up based in Boston. As Mediate, we develop innovative computer vision systems with the support of the National Science Foundation and the US Department of Veterans Affairs. We have previously developed Supersense, an AI app for the blind and the visually impaired. This app is another step in our mission to develop groundbreaking AI solutions to augment people’s capabilities. We have developed the app with principles of human-centered design and with the assistance of blind and visually impaired users. This app is a wonderful app and I’m surprised somebody didn’t think of it sooner. I love this app and I’m hoping that those who have Supersense will be allowed to use this app either free of charge or have a lifetime subscription to this app also I would like to see the option to be able to lock the screen so that you don’t run your battery down. Again what an awesome app and a great idea thank you for making this up and thank you for Supersense and the Supersense family of apps.

This is a fantastic app the holds much promise. Right now it does a great job at object detection, and as time goes on, object identification will improve. It does a nice job with identifying people, basic objects, and distances. I was able to use it to navigate around a house and office area with decent accuracy, so it can be useful to use to assist with figuring the layout of new areas in conjunction with orientation and mobility skills. Weaknesses is detecting objects below the waist, inability to detect stairs, and identify common objects like appliances.

When are use this app? It makes my iPhone 14 promax restart. It is not all of the time. It is every once and a while! The app is either taking too much memory or the app is crashing and the iPhone restarts.

Hello friends. We continue making improvements and adding new exciting features based on the requests that we have received from you! Below are the latest updates: 1) A new Rhythmic audio feedback based on the distance of your surroundings 2) Audio feedback settings are added to the Menu for the following actions: - Turning the audio feedback On and Off - Switching between the Continuous and Rhythmic audio feedback - Inverting the tone of the audio feedback to a higher or lower pitch when you’re closer to an object 3) Enhanced the audio feedback to work only when you move the camera and stop when you hold your device steady 4) Fixed bugs and made UI changes for a more stable experience Stay tuned for more exciting features!
