Description
Don’t just open your garage door with your smartphone. Automate it. Tailwind can close your garage door as you leave, open it when you arrive – all automatically. No buttons. No keypads. Just drive.
The Tailwind app allows you to open, close, or check the status of your garage doors from anywhere using your mobile device, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and our iQ3 smart garage door controller (purchased separately). Check out the list of things you can do with Tailwind:

Mostly Great
I picked this up for automating my garage door. It works well. No issues with the door opening/closing as we approach or leave our driveway. As a system administrator by day and general programmer for funsies, I found this app and execution of to be really well planned. My only complaint would be the massive battery drain for IOS users due to “always on” location services, but like you, I was mostly aware of this prior to purchase. I would recommend this to a friend that didn’t want a monthly subscription
Low latency, reliable.
Overall this is a very well polished app and device. My only hiccup so far was not being able to paste my password from a password manager during a password reset. Other than that, for the past week, my garage door has been much smarter, and I continue to be just as dumb. Luckily I don’t have to worry about leaving it open anymore. It just shuts itself.
Feature request!
Use location services to allow me to disable notifications while I’m home. The schedule feature is cool, but I’m not on a set schedule.
Great addition to our home
We had some gear stolen from our garage when we failed to close the door one evening. I got Tailwind soon after and it has been great.
We have little kids in car seats so my hands are always full when we walk from the garage to the back door. Tailwind reminds me the door is open...it’s such a help.
There are times the door is “offline” but overall a really good service.
