The Tive app is a dynamic networking and communications services platform full of interactive features, important tools, and a diversity of trending content focused mainly on the interests of the d/Deaf, Hard of Hearing (HOH) and Children Of Deaf Adults (CODA) community.
TiveHub™ - Tive’s Hub page features a diversity of compelling, current and valuable content hand-curated and updated daily, by and for the community. Unlike any other news stream or website for the d/Deaf, Hard of Hearing (HOH) and Children Of Deaf Adults (CODA) community, TiveHub™ offers our users a broad choice of subject areas to which they can subscribe for daily news, including health, careers, education, family, parenting, LGBTQ, customized experiences and engagement opportunities designed exclusively for the community.
TiveMix™ - There are many ways Tive™ community members can actively engage with the community across the application. TiveMix™ is where members post updates, share ideas, update friends and family on recent events, and simply share images, videos, articles and information that is useful, inspiring and fun. This dynamic space is easy to navigate, enables streaming and static media, and includes special design elements created exclusively for the Tive™ Community. TiveMix is a welcoming and inclusive social space, a fun place to expand your network and make new friends.
TiveChat™ - Tive’s chat feature allows our community members to directly message another member––anywhere any time using text or video chat.
TiveConnect™ - HIPAA compliant, TiveConnect™ allows our community members to connect with a live, certified ASL interpreter––anytime, anywhere for anything. From a doctor’s appointment or roadside assistance, to a parent teacher conference or job interview, the d/Deaf user has the immediate help of an ASL interpreter when needed. Accessing this feature on your mobile device, Tive™ gives the user independence and freedom of choice.
Tive is next-level awesome! It’s rare to find a trendy, fresh social media app that’s actually designed with the Deaf community in mind—and delivers. VRS and VRI built right into the app? That’s wild. This isn’t just another chat platform—it’s a full-on hub for connection, culture, and communication. Everything in one sleek, intuitive interface. It feels modern, inclusive, and exciting. Finally, an app that gets it. Deaf tech just got a serious glow-up.
Getting better but…still not a fit for me
APValerius
While using Tive VRS, I often got the same interpreters who remembered me from previous calls and they often said “Good to see you again". I reciprocated when they did. Unfortunately I ultimately ported out due to long wait times for interpreters when I was calling someone or someone else was calling me. Plus, on the social feed there’s an awful lot of religious proselytizing. Many DHH people complain about hearing, non-signing scammers utilizing Tive’s social feed. I would answer them by sending a video of me signing, and when they admitted they don’t understand, I reported them. So, integrating a social feed, video relay service and video remote interpreting into a single app is a unique, interesting experiment, but I have needs that simply cannot be fulfilled by Tive. For example, I often have little need to call numbers. My newly chosen VRS company is the only one to offer multi-platform videoconferencing integration. Now that my mental health program has switched away from Zoom, there’s only ONE VRS company who integrates with non-Zoom platforms like Teams that they now use. It sure was a NIGHTMARE porting my number outta Tive, but I finally got it done, and deleted my account.
A Wonderful App
