Description

Analyse your voice pitch, associated voice gender, & volume in real-time with the ability to record and replay the last 10 seconds. Essentially a voice analyser for transgender, LSVT, singers, and voice therapy patients to help improve the quality of their voice.

-View a graph of your voice pitch/associated gender in a real-time!
-Phonetically balanced sentences for you to read
-Listen to tones of specific pitches for you to mimic
-Record & playback without saving files to your device
-Real-time volume analysis
-Transgender & non-binary friendly

Please note; this app does NOT change the pitch of your voice, it only provides visual feedback specifically tailed for use as part of voice therapy!!!

The voice pitch analysis works best with an external microphone! It will work without an external microphone but please be-aware that results may vary as the voice pitch analysis requires a relatively quiet environment and some phone microphones can pickup a lot of background noise.

This tool is designed to act as a voice recorder/playback/analyser tool but with useful information such as voice pitch, tones, & volume with resonance and phonetics to be added at a later date. It is mostly intended for use as part of voice therapy, and users should be aiming to use the tool for about 5 minutes a day over several months. It does not provide lessons or guidance, it is intended to be used as a tool to assist with voice therapy and not as a replacement for voice therapy.

Great tool to get started in developing confidence in public speaking.

I’ve been using this application to help me overcome fears of public speaking by listening to my voice, and also hoping to eliminate annoying transitions, like “um”, and “uh”, etc.

Although one would think that simple voice recorder would accomplish that, it helps to see and a control your pitch as you deliver your speech to help make things flow more naturally, by seeing spikes and drops in pitch due to nervousness.

Both seeing and hearing these wide variations has helped me to better modulate my voice and control my pitch whilst delivering my speech more evenly. As a result , I’ve been able to speak with more confidence, clarity, and less anxiety.

This app made me feel like a girl

I’m trans fem and I’ve been doing voice training for about a few months now. I got this app recommended to me from a YouTuber I watch and I decided to try it out. Before I downloaded this app I felt like my voice would never be good enough to pass but now that I’m looking at what it’s showing me is that yeah, there’s definitely room to improve but I’ve also made so much progress already to my goal. I would like to thank this app for how it’s made me feel and to anyone else who is doing voice training this app is a 10/10!

Underlying assumptions are wrong

This app will help you adjust your pitch. That’s cool, and if that’s what you want to do* then go for it.

But first, is that really your goal? Cuz I’m betting you’re after what I am: sounding more like a cis woman.

Here’s the problem... Pitch won’t do that. Many cis women have lower pitch voices. Likewise, many men have higher voices. Do you get them confused? No. That’s because the primary identifier has little if anything to do with pitch on its own and EVERYTHING to do with RESONANCE.

Actually, if we want to get technical then it’s to do with the ratio of the first resonance (R1) to the pitch. However high or low a cis-woman’s pitch (or “fundamental frequency”) is, the gap between it and their first resonance is going to be larger than a cis-man’s.

Voice apps can measure both of these and more, but for some reason most of them focus unhelpfully on pitch. MORE unhelpful is the implication apps like this one present that somehow your voice will sound more fem if you can raise your pitch. Eh. Not much, and it’s a lot of work and can actually hurt your vocal folds if strained too far too fast - a point this app makes no mention of.

I would recommend reaching out to your trans communities for resources on legit apps and freely shadowable voice lessons. I am in a few Discord servers where this is done with helpful diagrams, apps, and extraordinary vocal coaches demonstrating and giving feedback.
