Awesome app with awesome support

Walkmeter is by far the app if it’s kind that I’ve come across. I’ve tried several others but either the GPS is wonkie or the app was unreliable or the data/tracking stats just never seemed right. Walkmeter gets all these things accurately and has even more features. I love the announcements as they keep me motivated during my hikes. And being able to edit a route name and have the cumulative data for the route automatically update is fantastic. And I can’t say enough about the support. The included help guide us great, the help in the website is even better, but when I still have a question I get responses in less than two days. Other app developers should take notes on how to provide good support. I can’t say enough about this app. The free version is great but the paid version is even better and well worth the latte you give up to buy it.

Elite is worth it for the price

I recommend the app I have solved most of my issues with it. It has a steep learning curve but the payback is that the app has helped me increase my pace and raise my heart rate.

I have had my frustrations and still have not solved all my issues. This app is hugely ambitious and it certainly has to appeal to walkers with OCD. But the price is reasonable so I can endure some learning curve. Still reluctant to start the app on my Watch. But I can start it from the phone okay. It took a while to figure out how to get the heart rate to show but it does work. I figured out how to edit route names. I figured out how to get announcements. Still working on fine tuning that. My greatest interest is in keeping cadence. Still looking for strategies to maintain a high cadence. It is easy for it to flag.

Old review: Very frustrating. I upgraded to elite but the Applewatch app was already installed. Little did I know that I would have to reinstall it on the watch to get the elite features. One workout lost. It stopped twice during my walk. Was it something I did? Restarting it is challenging with a sweaty finger. I am a pretty good troubleshooter but not when I am power walking. I have tried renaming a route. The instructions say it is possible. Yes but try to do it. Features galore but hard to use.

Upgrading to Elite on your iPhone should have automatically updated your watch app to Elite as well. Sorry to hear you ran into trouble with that process. If you need help with your setup, please reach out to support@abvio.com anytime.

Decent except for heavy map averaging

I first tried another app, but it insisted that you start the “free” 7 day trial of the paid version first. At least this app does not do that.

The free version offers quite a bit including speed, map, keeping historical data, weekly monthly, etc running sums.

My one beef with this app is that it does an overly heavy averaging of the gps location. As I am walking, the dot on the map keeps spot on. There is a blue trail that jumps up to the dot every 4-6 seconds, so that is the frequency of the position stored. When I go around a corner or turn around and head back, the blue line starts shifting for the next 4 or 5 “updates”. So it is averaging the points and overwriting data. The path ends up cutting through yards and even houses. There are a couple of settings affecting smoothing of the path, but no way to turn off the averaging. Since my current spot on the map is exactly right, I really don’t understand why the app needs to do any averaging. (I’m glad my car’s guidance app doesn’t or I would be driving across a lot of parking lots.) I would much appreciate a choice to turn off the averaging and a choice of a higher position data record rate (1-2 seconds)
