As a DStv customer you can enjoy all of these features on the DStv app.
- Watch it as it happens, tune in and start live streaming selected TV channels via 3G/4G or WIFI.
- Missed it live, catch it later by watching a selection of the most popular shows, sport highlights, and movies on Catch Up.
- Don’t want to use mobile data to watch shows or movies, download up to 25 videos on Catch Up while on WIFI to enjoy offline later across 4 mobile devices.
- Want your own experience based on the sport, shows and movies you like to watch, setup up to 6 profiles to personalise each family members viewing experience.
- Want to plan your viewing in advance, add Catch Up items to your watchlist to come back to later or access the full 8-day TV Guide and set reminders to arrange your viewing.
- Need to keep the kids entertained, our Kids section on the mobile app is a safe and fun viewing environment with PIN controlled access so your kids can enjoy the coolest shows and movies unattended.

Remote recording

Remote recoring still not possible with the latest update.

App still say it cannot find smart carrds linked to my accoun or connect to my explora.

This is like this since middle og 2019.

Pity the new update did not fix the remote recording function that is not working as its seems the link between the app and my smart card is broken.
I contacted technical support, the problem is known, but no timeframe could be given for it to be fixed.

It is a few months now since I wrote the above comment and the remote recording function is still not working. It still says it finds no smart cards linked, yet it is linked to my account

This was one of the most useful features I used away from home is to set a recording. It would have been nice to have this feature working during the holidays. When are you guys going to fix this?

I have experienced too many problems!
You indicate the programs to play, then I experience the right show details, but the wrong program, the wrong show details, but the right program, the program that starts, at the right time but finishes at the wrong time, the program that starts, at the wrong time but finishes at the right time, the packages not adaptable to choose what you like and don’t like and being able to save in not paying for channels not within your culture, not what you choose, also not providing a decoder with a ultra large hard drive 4 x 110 hours capacity as 110 hours is too small especially since people don’t have a lot of time to watch programs in allotted time slots, but being able to record it will be provide lots of joy as you are able to watch in your own time and especially as you can’t stream everything that you pay for on DSTV, thus a major nuisance to many subscribers and your packages are exorbitantly expensive especially between the various packages in relation to channels broadcasted and in terms of competitive products in our Market, a reason many subscribers ended their DSTV subscriptions. You either change for the better or your decisions will change you for the worse.

Catch up: Remembering what you are watching

I love the DSTV mobile app, but it often doesn’t update the latest episodes on catch up under my ‘what you’re watching’ section so I have to search for the newest episode of the series I’m watching under another category like new shows.

When using the app on my computer and I’m scrolling through movies and click on one I want to read up on, if I decide not to watch it, and I want to go back to the list of catch up movies, it takes me to the very top of the list of and I have to scroll all the way down to where I was. I really like the Netflix system whereby when you move your cursor over the movie title a short description comes up. This way you don’t lose your place.
