Horrible App

Rating:★☆☆☆ As a Vitality Member who enjoys the benefits associated with it, my experience with the Virgin Active App has been far from satisfactory. Despite its potential to be a helpful companion for my fitness journey, several issues have marred my overall impression of the app. First and foremost, the most glaring problem is the app's sluggish performance. It's frustrating that regardless of the network I use, the Virgin Active App consistently lags and fails to deliver a seamless user experience. Waiting for pages to load and navigating through menus feels like an exercise in patience itself, and this severely hampers the usability of the app, the excuse of “the system is offline” or “system is not working” has been saturated. Another significant disappointment is the rewards system, which falls short of aligning with users' fitness goals. I workout five days a week, but the app only registers 2-3 days. This discrepancy not only undermines the app's reliability but also leaves me feeling undervalued as a Virgin Active member. Being a Vitality Member has its perks, but if the persisting issue of app lagging continues, it raises doubts about the overall value of my membership. The frustration stemming from the app's performance might lead me to consider exploring alternative options, such as switching to a private gym.

NOTHING WORKS AT VIRGIN

This app as well as the online booking system do not work. It has been this way for months. I have spoken to the gym, called the call centre, Tweeted about it even. What is scary is that this problem has been going on for months and months and the people I speak to are not even aware of it (although the gym is). It just seems like massive incompetence. Pretty sad to see a company bomb out like this. On the app, when I (or anyone I know or speak to at the gym) tries to book it says unsuccessful. On the online portal you can book, however when you go to the class in the morning your name is not there. Therefore there is no point really in booking at all! I train at Wembley Square. The trainer even gets put as an attendee! It’s so strange because you would think for a big company like Virgin Active you would expect more but there is literally no end in site! I’ve really tried but it just seems like they don’t care. I’m not waking up at 5am anymore only to arrive at a class early that I have booked for to find I am not on the list. EVERYTIME. I will be cancelling and moving to another gym as a result along with a number of other people (well everyone) who is fed up with this. Terrible and sad.

Rewards function not working!

My rewards have stopped showing on the app for the last few weeks. It shows I have not even been to gym this week and I’ve been 3 times already. I’ve called the call centre twice. I was told to uninstall and reinstall the app which o did and it did not help at all. Then I was told that all the rewards only show up a week later which is crap. My gym tracker used to show which days I was there on the day. Please get this fixed asap because it really does help to motivate a person to get to the gym.

I have also scrolled down the hundreds of reviews for this app. It’s shocking to say the least. Do you guys not test the app? It seems like nothing is really getting done to fix any of these issues? Since the new update it’s just issue after issue. I couldn’t even log in the first time I had change my password. Please fix your app asap, VA should have enough money to make this a too notch app but it’s not even close! Just make it user friendly that’s all. Simple is better.

Visits will only reflect if you have been in the club for 30 minutes and have scanned in and out.
