I’ve only been flying for a month so everything is still pretty new to me. This app shows me exactly what I need to know for my flight planning purposes, and it does so with a really efficient and easy to read grid of information. Pros: > I can change thresholds for any of the weather or atmospheric metrics> I can send a snapshot of the weather/forecast to myself to add to my flight log later> The app is updated regularly. If you’re looking for sUAS apps (or any apps for that matter), check out the last time they were updated!> I bought the subscription and I think having several days’ worth of data is worth the small price - helps a lot for planning flights for later in the week. Cons:> Not a con, but a feature request. Please consider adding a way to store a few favorite locations. I currently save GPS coordinates in a notepad page and paste them into search when trying to plan a flight, but favorites would be a little easier. Overall excellent app for uav weather as long as they keep doing a great job keeping the app up to date and simple to use.

Helpful App (Revised)

[Update]:I decided to try out the app at the Hobbyist level, and I have found it to be quite useful so I’m raising my rating to 4 stars. I’m still not wild about the removal of the free functionality that was originally available but, as a professional UAV pilot, I have come to rely on the app for checking flight conditions before traveling to a work site so it’s only fair to update the review to reflect my positive experiences with it. [Original review]:I installed this app at the recommendation of a UAV class in which I am enrolled, only to find that it has been made utterly useless unless you pay for even the most basic functionality. This looks like it could be a very useful app and I am all for supporting developers of high quality apps but I have to agree with the other reviewers that it is very bad practice to remove functionality that was previously free. It appears that this app has been downgraded at least twice in its lifetime until now the free version has no functionality whatsoever and simply displays a useless forecast for a random location.

Thank you for your feedback and for trying UAV Forecast based on your UAV class recommendation. We understand your disappointment with the changes to our free service. To maintain and enhance our forecast quality, develop new features, and improve our overall service, we've had to make adjustments. Real-time hyperlocal forecasts now require a subscription, but we continue to offer the no-fly-zone map feature at no cost. Our changes support continued improvements in the forecast and expansion of features. We believe we offer the highest quality drone-specific forecast on the market, with wind/gust at altitude and Kp forecasts developed entirely in-house. Subscription plans are affordable, and 7-day free trials are available to new customers. Thank you for using the app and for your support.
Not Good Anymore.
TheTruth about this App
This App use to be useful, but just checked today and they severely downgraded the free use from 24hr forecast to 3hrs! Other parts are also down graded! Everything you got before for free is now their entry level subscription, but if you want a useful subscription, that costs you even more. A 3hr forecast is almost useless, especially if you are planning to fly your drone an hour or more drive away. I hope this company changes it back, otherwise if they don’t then I hope all the current users give it a low 1-star review along with their negative comments!!!Update: received an unsatisfactory response from developers that just show how greedy they are by limiting wind forecast to just a few hours. Anyone thinking about downloading this scam, please look at other-better apps that are still free and give you longer forecasts that actually help you, unlike this one!
Developer Response
We understand your concerns about the change in our free service. However, we continue to offer valuable current conditions, near-term forecast, and no-fly-zone map for free. Our business requires us to charge for certain features, but we believe our prices are competitive. You're welcome to try our service and see for yourself.
Great app for UAV flyers

Excellent addition to my collection of apps for drone flying. The Wind Profile tab shows me everything I need to know about the wind at various altitudes before I go out flying. Feature request: At the top of the Wind Profile screen it shows “Last Update: a few seconds ago”, which tells me when the app last pulled data from the server, but it doesn’t give me any indication of how old the data on the server is. Much more useful would be a time stamp from the data feed itself (if there is one) indicating how current it is. “Last update: a few seconds ago” always leaves me wondering if I’ve just pulled down 3-day-old data from the server...
Minor bug fixes and improvements.
