This app is the best thing ever, no joke. I have so many things going on in my life that could make me sad or happy, and as a very sensitive person, I was very overwhelmed and confused about how it was affecting my mental health. I always thought I was mildly depressed. I took a bunch of online quizzes and they all looked the same but gave me different results. A couple said I was clear, and a couple said I had mild depression. At this point I had no idea what to do or what to think, and I knew I wanted some real answers, pronto. I felt like a psychologist was a lot of money, and all I really wanted to hear was if I’m depressed or not. So, I looked up the app store for help thinking “there’s gotta be an app for this!” And then Moodpath was the first result. I checked it out, great reviews, completely free, so I got it. It’s been about 2 months now, and I’m in love. The 15-day results are a great schedule, and there is a reasonable amount of notifications, 3 times a day to answer questions describing your mood. I got real results in no time at all, for no charge. This app truly gave me some hope for myself and for others who need it because it’s really amazing and relieving. I think as long as you’re honest and you answer questions 3 times a day, this app will turn out perfect for you. Very pleased with this app and thanks so much to its creators❤️❤️
Had really helped me but also frustrated

This is a great app that’s easy to use and helpful to track moods. You’re doing good work. However, I have a couple suggestions and then some complaints.Suggestions: I’ve noticed that if I say I’m not feeling hopeless that it then reports that I’m feeling hopeful, which isn’t necessarily true (often I feel frustratingly neutral and seeing that I’m feeling hopeful when I’m not bothers me for some reason). I might change this question so that after you answer no it just says “I’m not feeling hopeless.” Secondly, sometimes I don’t know the answers (because I can’t always tell if I’m up to daily tasks) to some questions or they aren’t applicable; I have little to no tiring daily tasks or responsibilities when I’m on vacation, or in some other situations. It’d be nice to have an option that is like “not applicable” or “neutral/unsure”Alrighty Aphrodite on to complaints: Having to pay for some features really bugs me. I’m a teenager without a job and I do not have the money for this. I can understand paying for lessons and meditations and whatnot but I’m upset we recently have to pay for statistics (I was able to see them a little while ago) which are really helpful for me. I also think that detailed reports (that we don’t have to pay for) would be nice. I understand this isn’t a diagnosis but lately I’ve been getting an indication of isolated symptoms of depressed rather than an indication of an episode and I’d like to know more about what that means.
Developer Response
Hello, thank you for your review. We understand the criticism. That not feeling helpless not imply hopefulness is true. We do not wish to imply that without the implication of it, therefore your idea of adding the possibility of indicating "not applicable" or "neutral" is very good. We are always looking for ways to improve Moodpath further and are thankful for your feedback. The problem with offering Moodpath as a free tool is that it becomes more and more complex and an entire team of developers, psychologists, designers and other professionals are working on it. We want to ensure our content is good and based on scientific evidence. It would be best if health insurance companies would cover the costs of Apps such as Moodpath but unfortunately it is a long negotiation until we reach that point. We are in contact with several insurances but in the meantime we are dependent on our Users. In case you have suggestions on what a fair price would be or and what the main reason is you think the price is too high feel free to write us! feedback@moodpath.de - Your Moodpath Team

Out of all the mental health apps I tried, this one has always worked the best for me. It has helped me to gather my thoughts and help me understand what I am feeling. Three times a day it will ask you to answer a series of questions, and allows you to write down your thoughts, and log how you are feeling. At the end of 14 days it will give you an assessment of your mental state, and resources to help you. You can set goals for yourself and access videos and articles about many mental health subjects. All of this is so great, but what really lead me to write this review, was an experience I had with the app yesterday afternoon. I was having a particularly bad day, and was answering my daily questions as usual. I got the questions “Have you been thinking about death a lot recently?”. I clicked yes, which prompted a new icon to come up, asking me to answer a few more questions on the subject. “Have these thoughts about death been about ending your life?” “Have you come up with a plan for how you would end your life?” After answering yes to both of these questions, I received “It would be really great for you to reach out to someone about these thoughts! Would you like to be connected to a friend, family member, or crisis help line?” I was intrigued and opted to click the crisis help line. The app dialed the Suicide Hotline for me, and I had a chance to talk about the way I was feeling. This experience deeply touched me, I received help I thought I couldn’t get, and probably wouldn’t have reached out for on my own. The fact that this app can connect suicidal users to get help they need is really amazing.
Solid app with very helpful information

4.3This app has a lot of useful information to help people understand the thoughts in their head. With great information on what depression is, the symptoms, and the treatment that all are based on factual information that I have learned in my college psychology classes. This app, developed by a group of experts in psychology can be used for many different things like keeping track of how you felt on a certain day as it gives you reminders to get into the app and let them know how you feel every morning, evening and night. You also will receive and assessment every 14 days of your emotional health that is based off your daily journal. This process repeats itself so you are able to track your progress. I am a big fan of the different “courses” that you can take and learn about that also give you exercises to help with what you learned in that course. There is a lot of upside to this app and it can feel like and easier route then actually seeing a psychologist especially with the scientific accuracy and detail this app can give. But, I wouldn’t substitute it for a real psychologist especially if you are experiencing severe symptoms. But overall this is a great app to help you log how you feel and learn information about depression that you would be able to learn in a psychology class.
To ensure we can continue to accompany you on your path toward better emotional health, we have updated the app and fixed some minor bugs.
