Not sure why this app is on the store. I can’t buy tickets with my cc. I emailed support four days ago with screenshots of the problem and they never got back to me. So maybe someone will listen here? I am iOS 15. I downloaded the app on Wed. When I go to buy tickets I go to Select Payments. Then Manage Payments. I add my cc info. Pressed purchase. I get an error message that says I have to go back and add the name on the credit card. Cool. There is one problem though...There is no category for entering the name on the card. I wrote to Support and heard back from them that day. I supplied screenshots of the walkthrough. I thought this may be an app bug, so I force quit the app and ran it again. Nothing. I reinstalled the app. Still no Name on Card category. I am assuming this might be a database issue on their end. I had to buy my tickets from my desktop. This little bug kind of defeats the purpose of having an app to buy tickets. Please fix this.

I use this app often. Its functionality is crucial to me and fairly reliable. I seldom have any issue purchasing tickets or using them. That said, this is the most disorganized transit app on my phone. Most of the time, departures are accurate. However, I've been left stranded a handful of times by out-of-date information. To get to information, you press on your departure station, never your destination. This can lead to confusion -especially when routes and stops share the same name. I'm often helping people at the pier. A separate section organized by routes would be helpful! It would also be helpful if users could acknowledge the service alerts. On days when there are several service alerts at once, there is a frustratingly small space for the user to browse schedules. Alerts can't simply be swept away; you're just stuck using the bottom 15% of the screen. And nothing is alphabetical!!!! After years of using this app, I'm just realizing the stops are listed in order of their distance to you 🤣

If one is already familiar with this ferry system, and/or NYC, the app is great for buying tickets and having them scanned. For a newcomer or tourist, though, there are some crucial things missing. It would be extremely helpful to have a visual map of the entire system, for example, and I think that would be very easy to include. Otherwise the routes and stops are just a list of names, without any way of easily locating them in the real world.

I’m a local, avid Yelper & have been in the advertising / mktg / social media industry for most of my life so trust me on this FREE piece of business advice & implementing this suggestion…If U wanna make more $$$$ & provide more amenities + convenience to your riders, U guys may want to bring more attention to Ur concession stands by adding the onboard Food & Beverage menu + order in-app function to allow also for pickup at counter when ready (to also avoid lines & over-crowding around the counter & especially becuz of Covid- distancing). As a rider, I was pleasantly surprised & impressed & am fully enjoying the experience of riding the ferry even more because of the vast menu of alcohol, beverage & food options you have on board. Most importantly, I absolutely LOVE that there are both healthy & junk foods galore + the fact that some of these products are not necessarily all big-company brands but instead are local NY products. And I think by adding what I mentioned above, it’s a way to market & increase both the awareness & profits of your concession stands, as most riders / commuters tend to not be aware of ALL products offered, since most commuters / riders tend to think that the majority of public transport / commuter vehicles (boats especially) usually have very limited food & beverage options & NOT the assortment & quality of products you offer on your ride, which -as I mentioned- is what makes the ride / experience more enjoyable & better than most of the other boat rides already!
