CrateCore
Vinyl collection & turntable
Free
Daily stories about records, a scanner for your collection, and tools for your turntable. Offline-first, no ads.
CrateCore is for people who love music they can hold: vinyl, CDs, tapes. A collection catalog with barcode scanning, daily stories about music, and a toolkit for your turntable setup — all in one app that keeps working even without the internet.
YOUR COLLECTION, ALWAYS WITH YOU
• Barcode scan: point the camera at a sleeve — CrateCore recognizes the edition and adds the record to your collection with cover art and release details.
• Wishlist: keep track of what you're hunting for. Standing at a crate in a record shop, you can check in seconds whether you already own that pressing.
• Instant search: artist, album, year — found immediately, even when your shelf runs into the hundreds.
• CSV import: moving from a spreadsheet or another catalog? Bring everything over without retyping a single line.
• Your own photos and notes: shoot the sleeve, log the condition, remember where you found it.
• Offline first: your collection lives on your phone and quietly syncs to the cloud when a connection appears. In a basement shop with no signal, everything just works — changes sync themselves later.
DAILY STORIES ABOUT MUSIC
• Fresh articles every day: anniversaries of great albums, the lives of records and labels, collecting culture, portraits of musicians — from classic rock to electronic.
• A feed that adapts: pick your genres and the home screen becomes yours.
• Read stories are marked automatically, and anything you're not into can be hidden — the feed won't loop the same things at you.
• The story of the day can arrive as a notification — or not: push is entirely under your control, down to quiet hours when your phone stays silent. And the bell keeps a history of notifications, so nothing is lost to an accidental swipe.
• Like it? Save it, or share a clean, good-looking story card in any messenger.
• Stories are published in English and Russian — the app follows your phone's language.
TOOLS FOR YOUR TURNTABLE
• Speed check: place your phone on the spinning platter — the gyroscope measures the actual RPM and shows the deviation from 33⅓ or 45. No extra gear needed.
• Strobe disc: download the PDF, print it, and check speed the classic way under mains lighting.
• VU meter: a warm analog-style needle that breathes with the music — a little piece of the studio on your screen.
• Visualizer: a live picture driven by the sound in the room, for evenings when the music is on and the lights are off.
• Stylus tracker: count the hours on your needle and replace it on time — not when something starts to rustle. Your records will thank you.
• My chain: a card for your setup — turntable, cartridge, phono stage, amplifier. Everything that plays your music, described in one place.
DROPS AND NEW RELEASES
• Notable reissues and fresh vinyl — with release dates and pre-order links, so you don't find out about a pressing after it's sold out.
HONEST ABOUT YOUR ACCOUNT AND DATA
• Reading the feed requires no sign-up — just open the app and browse.
• An account (Sign in with Apple, Google, or an email code — no passwords) is needed for your collection, so it survives a phone change and lives on all your devices.
• No ads. Your data is never sold.
• Data export and account deletion are built right into the app — a couple of taps.
CrateCore is made by a small team that digs through record crates too, and knows the feeling of carrying a find home and playing it front to back all evening. We're building an app that's a pleasure to open every day: fast, warm, and respectful of your time.
You built the collection — give it a proper home.
